Last year's was surprisingly good. This year? It's horrific!Belgian wrote:I'm waiting for Gary to sing its praises. Then I'm all in.MatttthewGeorge wrote:Trafalgar Hop Nouveau 2013 now out.

DON'T quote me on this, but I think one of the beers is Nickel Brook's Bolshevik Bastard RIS. They tweeted awhile back showing off the new label for the "upcoming OCB pack". Might it be this one? We'll see. I could be totally wrong, but if that's the level of quality that's going to be in the pack, I'll buy a bunch.spinrsx wrote:GREAT LAKES BREWERY SAISON DUPUMP

I can't imagine it wouldn't be... here's the pic/post:groulxsome wrote:I so much wanted to edit the drinkvine description of the beer on the new beers page to quote you on that. So tempted...velovampire wrote:one of the beers is Nickel Brook's Bolshevik Bastard RIS
Incidentally, this is the best any Nickel Brook label has looked. I love their beer (recently), but damn their labels/branding are horrendous. I hope they continue along this route.

I'll take your word for it based on the fact that I too enjoyed last year's, and it's Trafalgar.MatttthewGeorge wrote:Last year's was surprisingly good. This year? In previous years this has been golden/harvest colour with a slight haziness due to being unfiltered. Two years ago it was infected but last year and three years ago it had fresh hop noses and flavours with a detectable malt backbone.matt7215 wrote:how so? brewing flaws? infection?MatttthewGeorge wrote:Last year's was surprisingly good. This year it has the colour and clarity of some sick guys cloudy urine. There is virtually no carbonation nor nose. The hops, or lack thereof, have a dirty grass taste. No malt profile to speak of. I guess I would say the dominant flavour is generic yeast... and dirt.
I used to sell beer. Now I don't.
