It is an odd pricing strategy and hopefully doesn't mean increased retail pricing is coming down the line. I know it's been discussed before and might not be a fair perception, but I still struggle with paying over a certain amount for NA beer. $17 feels steep, especially when Farm Boy sells Clausthaler Dry-Hop 6-packs for 12 bucks.
I think it's because they ship from the US, and try to have "free delivery". That means they cover their costs by increasing the price per unit, whereas LCBO/Loblaws buy in bulk and then do their own shipping.

Ya, Athletic ships form the US, so you won't get any of their special beers at grocery stores, etc.
I've seen the core lineup on sale for $11/12 at some stores.
You can get some of their special beers at a few online/NA shops, but mostly it's their limited editions that are worth buying on their site as they aren't around in shops.
I can always send you a 20% off code for their website if you want one.
Was recently in Ottawa and Gatineau, and picked up 16 new-to-me NA beers. Already stocked up for Dry January, lol!

I tried Collective Arts Emerald Stout NA beer. It was too wort like for my liking. That is the taste of unfermented beer. However it had some nice esters making it drinkable.
Also, I tried Erdinger Weiss NA beer. This was much more to my liking. While it did have a little wort taste to it, it was well balanced with wheat beer taste. I would drink this one again.

Sam Adams Just the Haze is listed at the LCBO. An exciting development.

Oh nice. I have only had Just the Haze once now, but a lot of people think it's a top NA beer.
Blood Brothers has a new one out - a cherry, peach sour. If you liked their other sour NA beers you'll like this one for sure.
Haven't been able to try any of the new ones on offer from Cowbell, Forked River or Flora Hall breweries yet....but will keep an eye out for them.
Still surprised that Great Lakes hasn't put out an NA beer yet, I thought they would have by now. I guess they're happy with their hop water as their NA option.

Nice read, I fall into this 75% category:
A 2024 report by marketing agency NIQ highlights that 75 per cent of non-alcoholic beverage consumers in Canada also purchase alcohol products — not necessarily replacing alcohol but integrating it into a more balanced lifestyle.

Same. For me it's been less about not drinking at all, but more about reducing. Especially on weeknights if a hockey game goes into overtime or something, it can be easy to grab an extra beer that I probably didn't need.
