i just called store #200, total rejection
"over scewed, call back later"
Is that a joke? She promised me she'd list it if it was a seasonal.........fucking idiots!
totally not a joke, and im heading to london shortly so i was looking forward to the delivery. guess it'll just be the blackshire and gambrinus
But you didn't talk to Mari, you talked to Nick. I just called and he said he talked to you. Mari was gonna bypass the skew count and bring it in anyway.
After I spoke with Nick, he said he'd bring your beer back in regularly once our spring targets come in, which is soon.

#542
#619
#505
2 of those received 24 bottles today, the other 2 stores passed
Excellent. I will try to hunt some down today.

I don't know why she bothered to tell me that she was gonna bring in "all the seasonals" then. What a crock!

drinking this now, my 1st offering from grand river.
very nice beer but i wouldn't really place it as an ipa personally. seems much more like a hoppy west coast amber to me but i'm not complaining, i love drinking a fresh local beer.
well done grb!

what store #?
623 or 590 is probably the best bet, they typically carry all the seasonals and special releases
536 will bring in the seasonal release stuff too usually. Not sure the number but the Bayview & St. John in Aurora stocks the same if you need another store to round out a trip
#623 and #590 will both be receiving stock this week

Thanks for trying Matt. I stopped by after work and they said something about taking inventory, and that the beer wouldn't be there for at least a week or so (which probably means never). It sounded like they had heard from you though

. I think I'm going to boycott that store, the only decent beer they stock is Knife and I think I might be the only one who buys it!

yeah i called earlier in the week and they said they would take to cases. i called back on friday to try to get them to take 4 cases total, either GKOS or CIPA and they told me to wait until next week because of inventory.
#23 took 10 cases of GKOS, and 4 cases of CIPA so hopefully you can get some there

No, that's probably a great observation - GR pack their flavors in their beers pretty well for the ABV, but they do their own thing and aren't trying to be Stone or Sierra Nevada. As you discover more of their beers, you will see they are a bit individual as brewers, and the quality is always very high - just my 2ยข here at least.
Enjoy some Mill Race Mild and Galt Knife Old Style Pre-Prohibition Lager to see what I mean.

Just enjoying my first bottle of this year's batch -- so wonderfully fresh tasting (bottled March 17 as others have noted) and plenty of hops, for me at least. Superior offering from GR and surely one of Ontario's best beers.

had a bottle dated March 1, 2011--ok still, the March 17, 2011 bottling was better, fresher, perfect amount of hops..not everything needs to be over the top hoppy for me...Great beer...next Tree DIPA tonight...

So, just putting it out there, I'm pretty sure that I'm drinking a mislabeled Plowman's Ale. Bought my bottle of Curmudgeon at the Alpine LCBO in Kitchener, bottled March 17th, and it's darker than any Curmudgeon I've ever had either on tap or in bottles, and
really seems to me like Plowmans based on the malt character and hops. And I'm someone who drinks enough of both to know the difference pretty much from the aroma, or appearance (actually that's not really anything boast about considering they're quite different).
Not to say that I'm upset, since I love both beers. I guess looking at it one way, I'm the winner of an unintentional beer lottery.
