"Project Brew" Beer Festival: Sat Apr 11

Post by AlanB »

The graduating class of the Niagara College Brewmaster program is organizing "Project Brew", a beer festival at the college on Sat April 11, 12-4 pm.

The main purpose of the festival is to provide samples of the graduates' "final project" beers. In addition, a number of local breweries will also be pouring, including Silversmith, Brothers and Brimstone. And there will also be a number of food vendors there: Yellow Pear, Pig Out and Eh Jose.

Although the first class only graduated in 2012, there are now Niagara graduates brewing at dozens of craft brewery in Ontario (including start-ups like Northwinds, Collingwood, Outlaw, Left Field, Brothers, Old Flame, Brock St., and Gananoque), and they have also spread out across Canada from the Atlantic to the Pacific, into the States, and internationally. So this festival is an opportunity to taste the beers of the next generation before they turn pro.

Admission is $20 -- that gets you a logoed 4-oz sampling glass and 5 beer tokens. (You can score an extra token if you bring a non-perishable food item for the student food bank -- limit of 1 extra token per person.)

If you like what you taste, bottles of student beers will be available for sale.
Too many beers, too little time...
