Now that Kensington Brewery about to open their new building, Collective Arts announcing they're taking over the Sas-mart space, and evidently another brewpub opening in the old burger bar space.

And to add various articles talking about people wanting to open bars/brewpubs in the market as it's about to become the new Ossington strip and undergo another gentrification...

Will Kensington Market survive this new onslaught of beer?

keep it funky

Well with Birreria Volo to the northeast and Bar Hop / Bar Hop II to the south both within staggering distance, I think the coming beer apocalypse of Kensington Market will be not just survivable but more reason to explore the downtown map and support this growing movement of smaller businesses.

It's probably way too late to buy an affordable Victorian semi to renovate and live like a King on Kensington though. The area has resisted substantial teardowns through many transitioning populations & changing demographics over time. I expect TKM will always maintain some historical and preservation status despite developers who try to muscle in and wheedle for endless City zoning variances as a means to pad their bank accounts (and as a byproduct net the city more tax revenue while Toronto can be seen to be serving the directive of creating more housing density.)

The neighbourhood has certainly changed, most of it positive. But you're right, I think the opportunity to get a bargain on a nice Victorian has expired.

Isn't the old Burger Bar now a bar/restaurant called The Temp? (Has time expired on the Temp?)

It was Templeton/The Temp between about mid 2013 to Jan 2017. It has since closed and will be, last I checked, the site of the aforementioned Duggan's project.
