This new site is bland, industrial, relatively far from where people live ... but I guess the rent (or ownership) is lower. Oh well, no different from my favourite brewery - Rouge River.
Having said all that, I'm still better off with Muddy being in Stouffville (10 minutes from Markham) than in their original site (a long drive).
It's definitely a move to give them control of their own destiny and not have to deal with the whims of a landlord, like what happened at the Toronto location.

Ben Johnson did a recent podcast interview, and the reason they had to drop the Post Office was because the owner was dragging his heels on the reno construction, and MY just couldn't wait any longer if they wanted to open on time.

Wow! That has to be frustrating.

Unfortunate indeed especially since that old post office building has been vacant for years. It would've been fantastic to have the brewery on Main Street, for reasons already mentioned. A lot of my favourite breweries are in industrial spaces, but they are kinda bleak and not particularly accessible. It's one lament I have about our beer scene vs. the US, where it feels like almost any town or city has a lively section with breweries on the main drag.

Obviously not MY's fault though, I get why they made the move. I'm sure most would have done the same thing.
