Good Afternoon:
I was wondering if anyone knew where one could purchase Murphy's Stout in Toronto (not on tap)?
Your info is appreciated.
Cheers!

Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Availablility of Murphy's Stout in T.O.
I was about to say any LCBO, but then I noticed on their website that they don't currently list it (anyone know why?). I swear I’ve seen it there before.
Anyway, The Beer Store still lists it on their website (www.thebeerstore.ca), so you should have no problem finding it at your local (in the small cans only I believe).

As far as I am aware, Murphy's is not currently available in bottles or cans in Ontario.jmstipe wrote: I was wondering if anyone knew where one could purchase Murphy's Stout in Toronto (not on tap)?
And it's even difficult to find it on tap. I was at Betty's on King St. E. for lunch last weekend and was happy to see a Murphy's sign out front, but they didn't actually have it on tap inside. Feh.
Sorry to add, but this got me wondering, I tried the product search on the beer store website, and for this product, only 6 or 7 stores in the province are coming up (the only 2 in the GTA I found were Brampton and Whitby) - is Murphy's disappearing or are the websites (and my computer skills) not up to par? Too bad if it is gone - I did enjoy a few pints when in Cork a couple years ago...a nice alternative when in Ireland.
Nope, not in the last couple of years at least.tupalev wrote:I was about to say any LCBO, but then I noticed on their website that they don't currently list it (anyone know why?). I swear I’ve seen it there before.
Nope again. If you search for Murphy's and click on the Irish Stout logo, and then click on "see a price list for this product", you'll find that it's only available by the keg. And if you click on "see a list of stores that carry this brand", you'll find that it's only available at 7 locations province-wide, none of which are in Toronto.tupalev wrote: Anyway, The Beer Store still lists it on their website (www.thebeerstore.ca), so you should have no problem finding it at your local (in the small cans only I believe).
Just replying over each other here Greg. I caught my wrong assumptions and saw the same 7 stores as you - thanks. I guess time flies, because I know for sure I had a fridge full of the cans for a past St. Patrick's Day party (I have a picture of it - it was about 40 cans - that was important at the time I guess) but I checked the date and it was 2001!
I had a pint a couple of weeks ago at McVeigh's, probably the most credible information I've given today.

The last Place I saw it, and had it (in a can) was in a bar in Erieau, Ontario (south of Chatham). The bar was called Molly & O.J.'s, and they had about 50 different kinds of beer to offer, much to my shock. Anyways, if you want some really badly, Molly & O.J.'s is on a long point out into the waters of Lake Erie, with a really nice beach, and a pretty good bar. Looks like I'll be taking my friends down there for a weekend this summer, seeing as we're always looking for a new place to party. There are a couple of motels (including M&OJs... It's always nice to get out of Toronto anyways. Most of their beers were LCBO offerings, and there was some Walkerville Lager on tap if my memory serves me. I'm assuming they get their Murphy's from the Beer Store in Ridgetown, ON.
