San Juan, Puerto Rico

Post by lister »

Recently did a Caribbean cruise with the better half and friends. One of the port stops was in San Juan Puerto Rico. I spent several hours at La Taberna Lupulo. https://www.latabernalupulo.com/ I read many positive things about the place and it didn't disappoint. Live beer and food menus: https://www.latabernalupulo.com/menu/ English was not a problem there. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The beer was great. The food was good too. I had the fried cheese and the fish tacos. The soundtrack was punk. Very popular place, more people there than I expected for a Wednesday morning & afternoon.

Across the street is a well reviewed cocktail bar called La Factoría. https://linktr.ee/factorialasanse Unfortunately we only had time for one cocktail due to time constraints but they were excellent. Pretty laid back place. Wasn't loud at mid to late afternoon. Also quite busy for a Wednesday afternoon.

Both are located in the old town area. Highly recommended.

Thanks for sharing!

It’s funny you mention about English, when I was in Ecuador a couple of years ago I communicated with a bartender using Google translate on our phones and showing it to each other. It did the trick!

Interesting to see two Collective Arts beers on tap down there.
