All I have to say is get some while you can.
I picked some up and served it with desert at my family thanksgiving dinner and everyone loved it. I've just recently been turned on to stout and porter beers and I have to say that Rogue Chocolate stout is my favorite so far.

I believe Alesmith was the one I requested that I got back a letter from the LCBO saying that the brewery had not answered their enquiries fast enough.

Jeremy, I think you're in the wrong thread!
Rogue has been one of my favourites in a very enjoyable fall release (I've purchased multiple quantities of the old growler, 1845, and wee heavy, all excellent in my opinion). I brought the rogue home for thankgsiving as well and it was a big hit - I should have just bought a case at the start, I think I've since purchased the equivalent at 2-3 /time!
I would be interested to compare this with the Young's from last year side by side. I know I've learned a few things I'll try to put into practice with my 2nd annual homebrew Chocolate Cinnamon Stout that turned out pretty well last year.

JerCraigs, good thing I popped into this thread.
Thats a shame about AleSmith. Maybe I'll contact them directly and see if they would be open to the idea....

I haven't been too fussy about the rogue imperial but this chocolate stout hit the spot and was verrrry drinkable....to me a hardy, high gravity or high hop beer is not overly useful unless it's drinkability is there. Thick, alcoholic big beers are nice....if you want a beer and not a few. Rogue did a good job on this one balancing rich thick flavor and stout qualities with drinkability....good brew I bought an extra 6 to cellar...we'll see what it's like with some age on it.

I can't say that I'm surprised about R.C.S. getting sold out so quickly. I'm just happy that I bought 2 cases. The stuff is pretty tastey

i tried this in seattle last year and loved it,
and after trying without success to get the Rogue Chocolate,
i went to an lcbo in markham not expecting anything of interest,
and saw 16 bottles

of it on the shelf, so i bought 6 of 'em
pleasant surprise...
cheers
