Has anyone had this yet? It's made in Burlington by Better Bitters Brewing Co., which I gather was (is?) a U-Brew place. A friend from work who lives out there brought me a bottle. Not a bad effort, could use a bit more hop flavour on the finish, I thought. What do those in the Hamilton/Burlington area think?

I hadn't heard of it. Do you know where it's being sold? Do they have a "brewery" anywhere?

I haven't had it yet either but it is sold at the brewery on Fairview just west of Guelph line (if that is the next exit beyond Brant-from Hamilton).

I was talking to someone from the burlington paper and they were going to do a story on this. Does anyone get that paper?

If you're referring to The Burlington Post, the online edition can be found here

Here's their website, though it has not been updated to reflect the fact they now brew beer for commercial sale:

http://home.nas.net/~bitters/

It gives you the location of their facility at least.

I stopped by the brewey today. They are brewing three beers: Nickel Brook Ale, Nickel Brook Lager, & Nickel Brook Light. Most interestingly, they are planning a fruit beer for the summer.

I picked up the Ale and Lager. The Light isn't bottled yet.

Haven't tried any yet, but I will tonight.

They are a full-fledged micro though. They are not using their brew-your-own equipment.

Joe.

Thats funny I was going to stop by there this afternoon but I had the pleasure of dropping $60 couriering grad school apps instead.

How are they selling it? Six packs? singles? 341 or 22 oz?

If anyone from Toronto is planning on heading out to pick some up, let me know, I'd be interested in getting at least a bottle of each.

Ditto...trade you a RS Confed ale for the lager.

They are selling the beers in six packs. The aren't planning on putting them in to the beer or LCBO quite yet.

I'll be in Toronto on Sunday, though I'm not sure of my exact itinerary yet. If I can meet up with someone and drop a few off, I will.
