Just a note on Church Key - completely unofficial news, my friend happened to be chatting with one of the guys (probably "Holy Smoke" who has posted here before) who mentioned they were just too busy to do the show. I'll let them confirm. It probably makes sense though as the Fort York investment would be more beneficial when their product can be found in the LCBO. Their booth has done well the past number of years at the festival though - I remember first seeing the crowd checking out the church pews 5 or 6 years ago...

Woohoo! Labatt genuine honey! - tick!

Lakeport and Magnotta continue to conspire against me by not bringing any o f their more obscure beers that I have not yet tried.

The Scotch Irish Festival Specials look interesting.

No Steelback?

No Steelback?
It's a beer festival. Of course, that didn't stop others...

Its unfortunate that Church-Key isn't coming. I can always count on John for some technical help (which I invariably need for my draught pumps), but its nice to see a brewery that is too busy to participate. This can only mean great things for Church-Key.

We'll miss you too Perry (sniff, sniff). John and I (Cary) have been going non-stop in the brewery and on the road. We have had at least one event , and in the case of Canada Day Weekend, 4 shows, each weekend. As most of you know John and I do the shows ourselves and the two of us couldn't be away from the brewery for 3 days. It really is a good thing to be this busy. Anyway, we'll miss everyone. Hope everyone has a great show!

Oops. The Hop Bunny Stout won't be ready for the show. Its still fermenting as I write and would be way too green (this time not just from the excess hops!) to cask for at least another 2 weeks. I'll hold onto it and let it mature. it'll show up somewhere, eventually.

I will be RUNNING , not walking, to get some Major Misconduct . It was the best beer this guy has ever had. I like my beer strong and flavourful...and Major Misconduct fits the bill perfectly.

...of course I havnt tried Blue or Blue Light yet ...

Nice line-up of beers, looks like there is something for everyone, i.e., the decent craft range and the commercial brews both local and import. There seems to be a new Tuborg out (I see they list a Gold and a Pilsener, I thought there was one but maybe the draft version is named differently); apart from that, not too much new or distinctive in the import range but the local micros are numerous enough and make up for it. Good to see Wellington County at the Festival again, they've always been a stalwart. Also, Old Credit (nice small family operation) and the Trafalgar beers, they are truly local/regional and Mill Street and Cameron and Granite too. It's the summer and this line-up suits the season and locale.

All the advertising in my neck of the woods seems to indicate that the Pilsener is the new product, for those Tuborg fans out there.

I'm gearing up! Where will you be, J? This will be my first Ft. York visit and I'd appreciate a little steering - see you and Greg after 2pm.
