Winter Warmers, so far...

Liked the Samuel Smiths Imperial Stout very much, on par with the Oatmeal if perhaps not quite as much body. Worth laying some down in the Batcave.
Fullers 2005 - very nice red box & leaflet, impressive serial numbered label. This is a perfectly fine strong ale if nothing too exotic. The SS Imp Stout I had afterward blew it away, frankly, but it makes a nice-looking gift for a mere six bucks so that's actually a consideration.
Well, that was enough for one session. Any thoughts on yours?

what store did you patronize for the Fuller's? The LCBO is slow at updating their stock data ..there was no listing for the 2005 release. Are most of the warmers on the shelves in TO? Cooper st.?
they're in Ottawa

ALl the london Stores are already cleared of the Sam Smith's Imperial, or any other early birds ,meaning next time I see some, I will buy all I can and save none for anyone else!
Seriously, that's what Im going to do.

I checked inventory this afternoon for the Fullers and found out there were 20 at Cooper St and 29 at the LCBO off the 401 at Kennedy. Turns out nobody in the Cooper store knows where those 20 are (yeah right) but, determined as ever, I then drove to the Kennedy store and bought all that they had left (about 26). I loved the 2004 and the 1845 but they ran out last winter before I could restock. I'm not taking any chances this year.

So... maybe the London stores will re-order... but do they ever? Kingston doesn't, they told me so.
It's a catch-22: people feel entitled to these beers the moment they arrive, and people feel entitled to these beers at the time of the promo (for at least, oh, a week or two if they have jobs and a life...

)

Yeah no kidding.

I wouldn't mind picking up a bottle or two of Fuller's Vintage to try. I won't be getting even one at this rate...
