Volo Website?

Post by jmcnally »

I've never been to Volo before and am looking forward to my first visit soon, but...

Is it just me or is the Volo website useless? I can't get any of the links to work. I may be on a Mac but that shouldn't exclude me! I've tried both Safari and Firefox and nada.

As a web developer, this bugs me because it puts up a barrier to a potential customer. I'd like to see the list of beers available there. If anyone has a list, could they post it here? Thanks!

It's not just you. The site only works in Internet Explorer. Thankfully, I have IE installed on my computer, and I have an add-on in Firefox (my usual browser) that allows me to flag certain sites/links to launch in IE. But it's still a pain in the ass, and definately cuts into their potential customer base.

Volo's website has never worked outside of IE for me, not sure why that is, but it annoys me to no end.

The list is probably pretty up to date in terms of bottles, as for the Taps, they could change depending on what is selling and what is brought in. Even the printed menus are sometimes out of date with the rate at which the beers change (Which to me is a good thing!!!)

Pretty much, although joining the list soon (or perhaps already) are four beers from the great US micro Hair of the Dog.

Wow, thanks a lot! What a list. It looks like I'll be visiting some night next week. What are prices like? Is there any way to "sample" a few different beers on tap?

Thanks for all your help!

I don't remember the draught prices off the top of my head, but I know that they are quite reasonable, especially considering the quality of the beer and Volo's downtown location.

Bottle prices are great as well, generally a bit cheaper than beerbistro or Smokeless where the selection overlaps.

And yes, I think that they offer sampler trays if you want to try a few taps.

I imagine the HotD stuff is coming to Volo at the same time as the private Bieropholie order in Quebec. The arrival date for that order was pushed back from February to March earlier this week.

Wow, interesting looking beers on that site. That will necessitate a nite at Volo for dinner and drinks!!! (Isn't life so hard

Well Volo’s order was in the hands of the lab a week ago I hear, so let's see whose bureaucratic mess gets its released first...

Hi,
It was my fault!
Yup, it looks like there was a problem rendering in firefox. I've tweaked the page and it appears to be working now.

tnx.

Wow, that's responsive customer service! I can't wait to go now and try the beers! (Thanks Carl!)

While I have your attention, the RSS feed link doesn't work, either. Any chance of fixing that, too? :)

Mondays are 4 buck pints, right? The top of the list posted is Draught I believe, lots of taps so wander to the back corner in the platform and take a gander.

The Denisons Weisse is practically a rite of passage to Ontario's beer culture, and must be tried by everyone.

Yup. I finally get to take advantage of that now that this coming Monday is the girlfriends exam so Mondays will become free again! We may celebrate by going to Volo's afterwards. :D
