Wellington County Iron Duke

On a regular basis, I find myself not buying Wellington products.

Not because they are inferior products, and not because they aren't to my liking. They just happen to be beers I often overlook.

So I decided to re-sample the Iron Duke strong ale tonight.

It's an excellent sipping beer. The malts are chewy enough and the weight feels substantial (only 6.5%). You can detect the booze too, but it's pleasurable. I found this sample to be very fresh.

The flavours were heavily burnt malts, with some chocolate and some dark fruit with aromas to match.

I think I have found myself a new winter warmer.

Wellington Russian Imp Stout is among my favorite beers but I don't buy any other wellington stuff regularly. BTW Steelback, Wellington imp stout is on tap at the castle all the time.... it's fresh and unpasturized and it is ambrosia..you'll worry at how easy it slides down  ...I'll treat you to a pint if you ever make it down here.
