This going to be a challenging year for beer lovers - hops, barley, glass, fuel... all going up and who knows how it will all end. Keep your fingers crossed for our strong Loonie.

On a brighter note, we were pleased to hear that Southern Tier will only slightly increase their pricing for 2008. Please keep in mind that we may see small fluctations in transportation costs.

Here is a list of what we can get you in this batch:

These are all 24x355mL and will come in around $57.00 per case.

- IPA
- Old Man Winter Ale
- Phin & Matt's Extraordinary Ale
- Porter Dark

As for the 12 x 650 ml sizes we are still awaiting word on final pricing, but hope to have that early next week.

However, we do have some exciting news - two much sought after beers will be part of this offering:

- Jahva
- Backburner
- also available are Unearthly, Tripel and Big Red

We may be able to get Raspberry Porter as well - details TBA soon.

Also, just a reminder if anyone has not picked up their order of ST#3 to please do so ASAP.

porter lovers should avoid the "porter dark". a travesty to the name (and a shame considering how solid most of their stuff is).

Sorry to disagree Grub, but I've always enjoyed the Porter - on the hoppy side, but solid.

I really need to update my rating on ratebeer though, it is from the Buffalo Brewfest '04!

i've had it on three occasions in the last two years, all from bottles, and every time it was the same watery, bland, underwhelming experience. i've also shared those bottles with others and every one agreed on the quality level. i've never even bothered to review it.

there's actually a bottle sitting in my fridge that somebody brought over and never drank (jan maybe?). i suppose i could give it a 4th shot...

yeah, i had the choklat on tap at coles and it was excellent. made me wish i'd grabbed more than one bottle. but it'll be back again next year (perhaps before i've gone overboard at kuhnhenn...)

I love the idea of bringing more Southern Tier into the Country! Is anyone interested in splitting/selling off any of what they might be ordering? I'm interested in any orders of pretty much any of the beer available.

Any news on when the Hop Sun will be available this year? After ordering a couple cases last year (and it unfortunately being sold out), I'm really hoping to pick some up this year. Although, the Harvest Ale was a great replacement.

Just thought I'd ask...

Hop Sun is scheduled for brewing for February 18, available for shipping in early March.

So far, that is the only scheduled production date for this beer in 2008.

If we close this round soon enough, we may be able to get our fifth order just in time to include some Hop Sun...

I brought one of those bottles, and didn't review it either. Maybe it's better fresh? As much as I like porters, I wouldn't take a chance on a whole case.

I loved Jahva, but I might go for an Unearthly, just because I haven't tried it.

When do we need to have the order in?

Can't go wrong with the Unearthly. Tried the ST Pumking this fall - hands down the best pumpkin beer I've had.

Crap...I did take a chance on a whole case. On the plus side R+R have brought it in at such a good price that the gamble is worthwhile, and I can always wash it down with my other case...Unearthly!

that's why i tried to warn people. i love porters, and was pretty unhappy at how far from the mark that one was. at least the first time i got it as a single bottle.

unearthly is heavenly stuff. i might have to get a case. though it's about the same price in buffalo, so i can always pick some up later (or in the next order through R+R).
