Best beer I've had in the last year, perhaps ever. Interesting how amazingly aromatic it is out of the can and as soon as it's poured, but how quickly the aroma declines throughout the consumption of the contents! Absolutely delicious regardless.

I haven't tried it since they opened the new brewery, hopefully it'll start to show up around BC. I really liked the plethora of EKG hops it had. British Flavour, but with a west-coast intensity (probably more like the pre-war British brews). It was really good stuff.
By the end of the bottle, I was getting a bit tired of the unique flavour. Slightly funky, though not off. I suspect it might be a signature of the yeast or perhaps it wasn't the best batch. I'll have to look for it again when I get out to the coast again, hopefully on tap so it might be closest to what they intended.

Well. not exactly "right now", but yesterday: Elysian Idiot Sauvin. This is now one of my favourite beers. Really damn good!

I have never (knowingly) tried anything with Sauvin hops. As much as I like the grapefruit nature of the big west coast hops, the tropical fruit notes in this beer went the extra mile. Really damn good. Did I say that already? :)

400 Pound Monkey IPA, Southern Tier IPA, Cameron's RPA..
Does anyone know what the numbers under the cap mean? I've got a 15% off clothing cap, another with a number 5 and another number 3 and an X. I've asked them via twitter no response.

Three Floyds Zombie Dust. Great stuff, just a shade below Alpha King.

The 26 bottles of Three Floyds I bought last weekend weren't enough.

Yesterday Coles:

Smuttynose Brett and I
Ithica Ground Break (meh)
Great Divide 18th Anniversary IIPA
Flying Dog Cujo Coffee Stout
Rogue Imperial Stout
Stone Smoked Porter Vanilla Bean

Consumers Sheridan @ Niagara Falls Boulevard:

DFH 90 minute (past March expiry - trying it now, tastes OK but not amazing)
Great Lakes Doppelbock
Great Lakes IPA (2 weeks from expiry - hmm it's OK)
Stone Ruination (2 weeks from expiry - still amazing)
2 Saison Dupont 750mls

I peeked in the new Premier Gourmet store-in-progress, which has a massive 10,000 square foot floor and will have a cooled beer section (that whole "Gourmet" side of store not open yet.) Just the wine section is open and it's the size of a grocery store. PG on Delaware (the old store) is a bit of a basket case compared to just two weeks ago. I was disappointed I could not stock up at PG for 20per cent off (and some prices are better than Consumers Beverage - sometimes for fresher product too, I have found.)

Stone Porter has a full-yet-dry taste for me with some dark malt and chocolate flavors, so of course adding the vanilla was great. It's actually a tasty refreshing beer while the Cujo is a bit of a sticky-sweet malt bomb. I didn't even have time for Blue Monk where a few Saisons and stuff were on the draught slate...

- update - enjoying another Commodore Perry, an atypical IPA made by Great Lakes (Cleveland OH) but I really like it.

Can I come over, Marcus? :D

Durham Red Dragon on cask. Interesting, sorta coffee-flavoured/roasty.

I found that the 4D tasted more like a barley wine than an Old Ale. Still very good, but not exactly what I expected.
