Started in on a growler of taps dark wheat. Very interesting brew. Has the characterisitics of a porter but fermented with a german wheat yeast strain. Very dry and tasty.

Barley Days Wind & Sail Dark Ale. Grabbed a sixer while camping at Presqu'ile on the weekend. It was a cool weekend and a dark ale just seemed to be the style for around the campfire. Very fresh and quite tasty. The positive comments on Bar Towel recently made me want to revisit Barley Days. I will be trying more from them soon.

I'll have to give it a revisit when I go to Prince Edward County later this month.

Beau's Dunkel Duck, good on them for trying an unusual style!

Has banana dark fruit spice and a bit of vanilla. Just a hint of trappist dubbel attitude in there too, maybe from the feel of the alcohol or slight minerally funk.

Cask conditioned Red Dragon from Alley Kat. The cask conditioning really opens up this already more-ish double IPA. So happy I got 2 pints to everyone elses 1 :)

Rochefort 8, thanks to notdan. Thanks Dan!

Man, am I ever growing a love for Belgian stuff as I get slightly older. Especially the Trappists.

Glad the package arrived safely!

I just cracked a Simple Malt Double Porter. I wouldn't drink them all the time still, but I am gradually coming around to smoky beers. Might be time to retry the Schlenkerla Rauchbier (which I couldn't stand a few years ago).

If I were where you are right now I'd be funnelling Au Maitre Brasseur Porter Imperial. That stuff is so awesome! :P

Garrison Imperial IPA: Not awesome, probably won't buy it again. A bit too light on citrusy taste for my IPA preferences.

...and later: Great Lakes Pumpkin. Still unimpressed, but I wanted something sweet and I foolishly have no small bottles/cans of porters or stouts. Can't down an Oak Aged Yeti by myself.
