Over the last few days in Charlotte, NC and Jacksonville, FL:
NoDa Hop, Drop ’N Roll IPA (draught)
Natty Greene's Wildflower Witbier (sample)
Catawba Valley Firewater IPA (draught)
Foothills Carolina Blonde (sample)
Stone Enjoy By IPA - 04-20-14 (draught)
Intuition Ale Works Jon Boat Kolsch (draught)
Victory DirtWolf Double IPA (draught)
New Belgium Spring Blonde (draught)
Green Flash Green Bullet Triple IPA (draught)
Rivertowne Vanilla Porter (draught)
Intuition Ale Works I-10 IPA (draught)
Bold City Duke’s Cold Nose Brown Ale (can)

With the exception of the Catawba, the IPAs ranged from great to outstanding. Non-hoppy highlights were the Jon Boat (big punch of cereal, wheat cracker, and biscuity malt upfront with crisp, lemony hops to balance) and Vanilla Porter (nice mix of roast, coffee, and vanilla flavours with a bone dry, ashy finish). The rest left something to be desired in one way or another, but we're off to a pretty good start so far.

Muskoka Detour - grabbing a six every time I make a bottle deposit run
GLB Thrust! - Really good balance on this one, tilts toward the hops, but just the way an American IPA should

And finally some Aberlour to celebrate the Habs win over B's

And just 2 days after they won a huge game against the Leafs. Great few days to be a Habs fan!

Lone Pine IPA for lunch and it's kind of ruined me. I'm surprised this doesn't get a bit more attention on here. It's a serious IPA, with bold flavours (both hop and malt) and packs a wallop. Love to see it in cans or a six pack.

Going to be tough to keep that excitement level up against the Sabres tonight

Earlier tonight I had my first Stone Go-To and my first Enjoy By.

Both were fantastic.

Nice!

Not to outdo you. Just had my first 100 Mile Ale, and it's lemony-hoppy good.

Ontario Beer Company are doing a collab with Stone, the "Go 100 Miles To Enjoy" Abbey Penance Ale.

Very cool. I hadn't heard about that collaboration.

Whereabouts did you get that 100 Mile Ale?

Was that any good? Every Goose Island beer I've had except for Sofie and Bourbon County have been average to bad but they're regarded, it seems, fairly highly as a brewery.

100 mile ale is all over the LCBO.

I'm pretty confident he's joking about that collab.

Shows how much I pay attention to the Ontario brewing scene these days.

drinking a boubon county barley wine thanks to igeunard - simply amazing! Although it is a little sweet, it is one of the best tasting barley wines I've ever had.

Aroma and flavour were awesome with lots of juicy-fruity and orangey-citric hops coming through (very pungent), but the body was surprisingly lacking for the weight. The RB and BA ratings seem to reflect that sentiment in that they're above average to high but well below the top percentile of the style.

You need to drink more Goose Island. Well above average.
