That'd be me.

It's essentially a contract brew situation where I do my own brewing and yeast management (most contract breweries take a hands off approach), Junction provides the license, distribution (well, mostly -- I do some deliveries), and packaging.

It was started on something of a whim so my marketing has had to catch up to the brewing which has led to some confusion over the relationship.

In the next few days, we should have the Shacklands brands separated out from Junction's in Untappd. And there should be a web site.

And so on and so forth.

Since we're off into threadjack territory, feel free to PM me or start a new thread if you have any more questions.

Edit: or you can take me out for a beer to get more details. :)

Was at the Casbah in Hamilton for the Brews and Bands event earlier this afternoon with Cale and Mel, boney, streets and fellow HOZERS. Had:
Nickelbrook - Immodest Imperial IPA
HOZER - Hefewiezen (Chris Cleaver)
Sawdust City - Red Rocket Stout
HOZER - Mosaic Red (Cale)
Nickelbrook - Green Light Berliner Weisse
HOZER - Belgian Honey (Scott Emmick)
Beer-wise, the highlight was the Hozer brews, Cale's was full of danky goodness along with the Red Rocket Stout - love the cayenne pepper. Non-beerwise, the highlight was the salted honey pie, delicious!

Howesound's Berlinerweisse. Not nearly as tart as the last time I had it. Nice summer brew, but this is practically a Kolsch?

What were your thoughts on this? I had a draught sample at Three Penny Taproom and thought the vanilla and bourbon notes completely dominated the beer, to the point where I couldn't even tell it was a DIPA.

Ayinger hefe... still great imported in a bottle.

Driftwood Belle Royal... seriously funky this year, but not too acidic... love it.

Steamworks Saison... an easy summer drinker.

Thinking of staying in Aying, or near one of the brewers on the S-Bahn 'net' around Munich. I want to stay somewhere cheaply and fun-ly, so I can travel to Münschen and anywhere. Anyone have experience or recommendations?

^ Sorry if off topic, but holy cow are German towns and cities well-served by a transit system (for starters, they seem to HAVE one.)

my review:

"750ml bottle shared by jsprime. light orange with a white head. aroma of lightly hopped bourbon. the flavour is like 1 part boubon, 3 parts water. where did the ipa go? the wood and vanilla completely take over and the finish is like chewing on an oak cube. overall this was pretty well executed for what it was but please stop barrel ageing IIPAs, it just doesnt need to be done."

Kilannan Alt Beer

I enjoy this as I did the Creemore Alt Beer last fall. Have a bottle of the Beau's Festivale Plus Sticke Alt, but haven't tried it yet.
