This happened a while ago, but it's a good story anyhow.

There's a theory in psychology that's called "justification of effort". Essentially it means that the more effort you put into whatever you're doing, the more you will think it's worthwhile. (it's more complicated than that, but you get the idea)

So it's not from lack of effort or psychology that I ended up supremely disappointed. I ventured all the way down to the brewery (considering I have no car and opted out of spending money, it was rather an effort from Huron and Dupont) and then waited a half hour outside for it to open. Bought the stuff, dragged it home with me on the train to Kingston... ah, it's shite! Watery, simple, one dimensional shite. Of all the things I could have lugged on the train.

I guess I still have a lingering sense of loyalty to the brewery, because they gave me a pretty good tour. No more!

The joys of long-range beer hunting expeditions. I used to live in the upper reaches of the Annex myself and once walked to Amsterdam for some beer. Then I carried on the Academy (this was back when Joe ran it). I tell you there was no disappointment with my Mexicali Rogue that day. The thing that scares me is that probably wouldn't make my top ten of long walks for beer.
