The Bar Towel

hey homebrewers

So far i've been doing extract brews with specialty grains on the stove. Im planning on trying a AG brew with the crappy tire turkey deep fryer using the brew in a bag technique ie, no sparge, just mash in a bag and boil. but i've had some trouble finding a good filter bag locally.

The basic technique that I'll be using is this :

Has anyone tried this technique and knows where to get a good filter bag?The muslin ones dont really come wide enough.

Any tips or suggestions would be great.

Not sure if burlap would work or not, but if it does a garden centre might be able to help you out

One of the SOB's was doing a Brew-in-a-bag at the "Teach a friend to homebrew" event at Amsterdam.

Ya, Zanis is a big brew in a bag guy, lots of experience. Not sure if he posts here. He used curtain sheer fabric, I believe it is nylon but could be wrong. You'll definitely have to sew you own bag, but the results are pretty amazing.
