Jeremy Day, at Cafe Taste (1330 Queen St W), is a self-proclaimed wine geek who has discovered the deliciousness of StoneHammer Beer.
A four course dinner paired with the StoneHammer Lineup, The Pilsner, The Dark Ale, The Maple Red Ale (George's latest seasonal concoction) and Maclean's Pale Ale is being offered at the ridiculous price of $40, menu is still to be determined.
George Eagleson, brewmaster extraordinaire, will be on hand to lead everyone through the dinner.

Cheers!

Thanks, Bill (& Troy) - I totally forgot to post info about this. I got a ticket as soon as it was announced a couple of weeks ago. Cafe Taste is in my hood, and I don't get there nearly as often as I should, but when I do, Jeremy always does things up right. Should be a great time!

Just got home from this dinner a few minutes ago. I didn't see any other Bar Towellers there (or none that I recognized, at least), which is too bad, as it was a great dinner, including:
Three Ontario & Quebec cheeses paired with Stonehammer Pilsner
Beef Chili paired with Stonehammer Red Maple
Chicken Vindaloo paired with Maclean's Pale Ale
Chocolate sticks paired with Stonehammer Dark
The food may not have been up to the blow-your-mind crazy-fantastic standards of beerbistro pairing dinners, but it was still really solid and tasty. And Jeremy was generous with the beer samples during and after the dinner. So it was more than worth the $40 (including tax & tip!).
And of course, George from F&M was his usual informative and energetic self.
Very glad I went, especially since it was a short stroll home afterward.

Damn, I couldn't make that and it's a short haul for me too. Plus, I really like what Jeremy is doing there. I hope he'll consider doing another beer dinner sometime.

Dunno about another dinner anytime soon, but he said that they're thinking of doing a bus trip out to F&M and perhaps another brewery or two, similar to the winery trips they did last year.
