Announcement for the next CASK! Social

"Let it be hereby known that your friends at CASK! have decreed a CASK! Social to be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the handsome Rhino, 1249 Queen Street West, from 3 to 6 pm. The usual rules apply: turn up, drink cask ale, chat in a friendly manner to other imbibers. That's about it -- simplicity itself. See you there."

I sure as hell hope that they properly label those casks. On enquiring what exists on the cask last week I got 2 blank looks and 2 different beers: Stonehammer IPA and Headstrong Nut Brown.

Both of which don't exist.

Exactly. And what I ended up getting was an overly warm, buttery tasting brownish beer with no discernible characteristics.

The StoneHammer IPA certainly is real, but not at the RHINO, it was a one off brew done for bothe the C'est What Festival and Volo's IPA Challenge. Based on feedback, it may be making a return in September as a permanent member of our lineup. You can also find it at Round 2 of Volo's IPA Challenge.

Cheers!

I hope so. Being a Guelphite myself I wish the local brewers made it easier to try the one offs - instead of having to drive all the way to Toronto when you're just 5km from the actual brewery.
