Mill Race Mild on Cask in London

Post by wbread »

The King Edward in Ilderton has Mill Race Mild from Grand River on cask right now, it's pretty tasty!

It is pretty tasty indeed.

The King Edward always has a great selection available on cask, but sadly, they are not "in" London, and are 15 minutes from the north west of the city. I still make it out when I can, but from where I live it is at least 30 minutes, and I don't drive.

Thankfully, there will be cask ale "in" London soon enough and so I can have my cravings whenever I like at that time.

Thanks for the update, wbread. I've never had the cask version before, so I'm gonna try to get in there before it runs out.

I guess your perspective depends on where you live in the city. Being in the west end near Hyde Park, I can get there in under 15 minutes, whereas the Morrissey House is about 20 minutes away from me. So, while the King Eddy isn't located in the municipality proper, I definitely consider it to be a "London and area" bar. Also, when you do a 10 mile radius search of London on beermapping.com, the King Eddy pops up (albeit right on the edge): http://beermapping.com/a/11389

Very cool Mike, thanks! Beer mapping is very cool!! Now, all we need is LTC service to Ilderton.

Thanks for the comments guys, I'll call the LTC Len and see if they can get a route out here! I just tapped my last cask of Mill Race, after that we're onto Neustadt Double Fuggle.

Cheers,

Rich

Please call them Rich :)

In all seriousness though, I really do wish that LTC serviced the smaller town around London like St. Thomas, Ilderton, Dorchester, etc. These are largely bedroom communities that do have a lot of people working in London, and visa versa. My trips to both King Edward and Railway City brewery would be often if this were the case. Sadly, LTC hardly has the competency to prodide proper service to LOndon proper, so I don't see any of this happening soon.

I'll make sure Cratez and I get out for the Dubble Fuggle.

Always nice to see these updates Rich, thanks!
