Jumping into AG - Bulk grain question

I'm about to take the plunge into AG brewing. I understand there is a place in Fergus, ON which sells bulk grains to homebrewers. I don't have a mill, will they do milling for me?

You just missed a bulk grain buy in the SOB group, with very good deals on grain from the same place Gilbertson & Page I don't know if they will mill it for you, but I am doing a bulk order of Barley Crusher mills for members of the group, if you are interested PM me.

Echoing what Phirleh says, strongly consider getting a proper (i.e. not corona) grain mill. It will save you time in the short run and money in the long run. I am pretty sure that G&P does not mill grain for its customers. If they do I imagine it would cost more than unmilled grain.

And yes, if you are going to buy in bulk you really should hook up with the SOBs. Those bulk buys are true bulk buys. Your 25kg bag of two-row will cost you much less if you participate in a group buy (and there have been two this year). The Learn 2 Brew event at Amsterdam on Nov. 6 is a great opportunity to meet many of the SOBs in person and learn more about the group.

I actually did join the SOB. I live 2.5 hours north of TO but I could get down there to pick up the stuff. I'll wait until the next buy and maybe start all grain then.

In the meantime I can start saving up for a mill ;)

Thanks for plug on our Learn2Brew event

...and it just so happens that your bags of grain are on my basement floor,
if you're wondering what happened to them!
