LCBO discontinues 750ml Maudite and Blanche de Chambly

Really disappointed by this, specifically the Maudite, which I buy regularly. They are still selling BDC in 6-packs, but are not offering Maudite in any format. That means TBS now has two Unibroue exclusives, the other being Trois Pistoles.
The LCBO is still carrying Fin Du Monde, which is a bargain at $4.90 for 750ml.

There is a new display of 341 mL BdC at my local. I don't remember ever seeing the small bottles there before. No Maudite, though.

The guy that I deal with at Sleeman's is actually a good guy, that knows his stuff. He told me they are submitting a bunch of new Unibroue stuff to the LCBO, the anniversary being one of them. The way I figure it Sleeman's has the cash to at least push one of them through, so thats good news. Chambly Noir and Don de Dieu were among the others they submitted.Derek wrote:The 17 was early 2008, soon followed by the Quatre-Centième. We missed a few... they should really have a 20th Anniverary out about right now.
It all started with the 10, you'd think they'd do something special for the 20th. Or does Sapporo just not care?

I can remember last year at this time there was some rumblings about FdM being discontinued, so I grabbed a 1/2 dozen of the 750's, still got 4 of them and they should just be starting to peakGarthicus wrote:Thank goodness FDM is still available - that HAS to be one of the best valued beers we have available to us!

You may want to do that again because it is on its way out, once there is no more in the TBS warehouse its gone from the LCBOicemachine wrote:I can remember last year at this time there was some rumblings about FdM being discontinued, so I grabbed a 1/2 dozen of the 750's, still got 4 of them and they should just be starting to peakGarthicus wrote:Thank goodness FDM is still available - that HAS to be one of the best valued beers we have available to us!

Unibroue says 3 to 5 years for the FDM so there you go.

So made Feb 1, 2010 add 3 years so at least 2013 maybe 2015. As long as I drink them by 6:11 pm I'm good.
Oh man, make sure you do! Once I had a bottle of FDM 2 mins after its expiry date and it was a freaking train wreck! 2 mins prior though is fantastic.Ukie wrote:Unibroue says 3 to 5 years for the FDM so there you go.
