Miami Weiss?

I was given a sample it tasted pretty good. Better than I expected. I'm a big fan of wheat beer and northwestern hops ever since I had Rogues Sharkstooth Ale (which turned me into the beer snob I am today). I have to wonder about Great Lakes marketing decision though. The blue and pink label made me pass by it at the front of the store. Not until I read the description did I go back for a taste. It's an eye catcher for sure, but not in a good way.

I under stand the theme, but I'm not sure Tubbs and Crockett scream anything but Zinfandel. It just looks like this wasn't given any thought. First clever pun and we're done. I wonder how many meetings this idea went through...I was embarrassed to buy it.

Seriously?? Who cares. I bought 5 today without thinking twice. The cashier actually seemed to think the bottle was pretty cool, he even showed it to the cashier on the other side of him. Maybe its just me, but as long as the beer is good, I couldnt care less about the packaging.

No I wasn't serious, but am I alone in thinking this is poor marketing. It's a decent beer, and I want it to have a decent chance. Maybe Mr. and Mrs. Molson 67 sublime are looking for this type of thing. I can't help but think that this is just a pale imitation of the funky us craft brews though. Just like when Mr. Robert Simpson morphed into Batshit Insane Monkey Doo brand....I'm sure it's simple flattery, but it strikes me at unauthentic...that said, I have to give credit to FM for creating a somewhat decent IPA I can find relatively easy.

I was thinking about the average beer drinker who likes Grasshopper and Hoegarden buying this beer because they like wheat beers.. and then being completely shocked when they taste it. For example, my 65 year old mother drinks grasshopper.. the hops in this Miami beer would blow her face off. I'll bet the lcbo gets a few returns

I love the beer and I love the packaging too.
Although I do agree with the point that the LCBO will likely see a few returns of this one. They really don't do a good job of clearly labelling the hoppiness of this beer

Great beer. Great label. They should ditch the green tea (or the orange peel) and get this on general list.

From what I understand this will replace Green Tea as their LCBO summer seasonal.

That is the best news since your news about the Red Racer general listing
