Sadly I'm moving to BC this coming week and everything will be even more expensive, but still. Least I can get a sixer of red racer there for 13.50 as opposed to the laughable $17.70 here.
Gone are the days of a decent six pack for 12 and change i guess?

Southern tier ipa and Smashbomb ipa price over $13 now.. wtf

On a similar note, I was surprised to see Smashbomb on the shelves at TBS...that along with Netherworld. I assume the price is the same, but at least you can buy a case if you want.

When the 'hop shortage' hit a few years back some USA imports were soaring past 15 dollars. That's before the currency inflation that's happened since.
I give Roland & Russell credit for bringing back DOWN the price of ST IPA whenever they were able, based on US exchange rate or whatnot.

Bowen Island at $8.50 (more of a hoppy pale, but I'd argue it's better than Keith's):

In this particular case of price fluctuation, the brewery (nor the agency) did not increase its price. Glad I'm getting out of ontario =\ If i can get a decent 6 pack of IPA's for under 12 bucks there I may be in heaven. Sorry if I bring the ontario curse with me man, don't hate me if in march they all go up 2 dollars ><

The Bowen Island is contract-brewed in Kamloops. It's drinkable, but you get what you pay for. The Granville Island is actually brewed at the Molson plant a few blocks away from their original brewery. Also drinkable, but somewhat muted (filtered & pasteurized?).
The Cannery IPA is really the only one I could endorse.

So there's actually lots of options under your $13 threshold... then the mighty Red Racer is $13.50.

That's sure good to hear, encouraging given the 'I give up' posture that many USA micro brewers have taken with our market. Considering how much I paid to ship a fairly small box of beer to Michigan last week, it doesn't surprise me at all that Red Racer costs that much coming from BC. That doesn't mean I'll pay a $4 premium for it compared to Smashbomb very often, but it doesn't surprise me.
Southern Tier = Cost + Shipping + Taxes + Importer Profit. All of those add up.
The solution, as it has always been is for more quality Ontario IPAs to get bottled regularly.

And it's still cheaper than Smashbomb is now. $13.05 6x355 v.s. $13.25 6x355... Maybe we can talk Peter into listing at more Beer Stores so that we can actually take advantage of the case deals? I noticed the last six of Southern Tier IPA I picked up appeared to be a different recipe. Very pale in colour - similar to the 2XIPA. Hops were a bit more prominent as well, although it was a fairly fresh sixer at the time. I would pick it up more often as a result of that experience but I have to go a bit out of my way to get it.
