I was looking at making an Orval clone and heard about doing this to give it the bretty Orval taste.
I was going to simply take a vial of White's bret brux, pour it in a dish and add 2 drops to each bottle.
wondering if anyone's added bret brux in this manner and your thoughts about it

You'll certainly want to undercarbonate.
I don't recommend it.

yeah, i'm up in the air about it.
a homebrewer swears by it but I'm worried about bottle bombs. i'd rather add the brett to a secondary and let it ride in a carboy for 3 months

It is my understanding that Brett takes upwards of 8-9 months to finish fermentation, depending on ph levels and whatnot. I believe Matt has different ideas on this, there is a thread where we discussed it, and he certainly knows how to brew good sours.

why not just add the bret B into your bottleing bucket? you'll be much more consistent then adding a few drops to each bottle
let it condition for a few months in the bottle thencrack abottle a month until its reached your desired flavour profile
beware of over carbonation

an all bret beer can take that long to ferment, i would give it around 6 months
if you are pitching a primary strain then adding bret to secondary idont feel it needs as long, 3 - 6 months, and as i posted above, ive added bret at bottling with good results, let it condition for a few months in the bottle then crack abottle a month until its reached your desired flavour profile
beware of over carbonation
when you start getting into bacteria you need primary fermentations of at least a year

Just added Brett B to a keg of belgian pale ale. Used dregs from GI Matilda and Orval. Will check on it in 3 months or so. Planning to dry hop the keg when it is ready to serve.
