National Capital Craft Beer Week Homebrew Comp Winners

Congratulations to this year's National Capital Homebrewing Competition winners!
Thank-you to everyone who participated in our first annual BJCP sanctioned homebrewing competition. We received 225 entries this year and the competition was fierce with great quality beer being submitted! A special thank-you goes out to our judges and stewards for making the competition run so smoothly and of course to our sponsors who provided the great prizes given out this year!

BEST OF SHOW: Joey Kilbride, "Joey's Ipa" (American IPA)
The winner of this coveted title will receive a Brewmaster's Experience, compliments of Beau's. Joey will join the folks at Beau's to brew a batch of his winning beer for limited release as part of their Pro-Am Series; up to $500 in travel expenses, provided by Beau's; one-night stay in Vankleek Hill, home of Beau's All Natural Brewing Co.; dinner with the Beau's team; $250 gift certificate from Ontario Beer Kegs; $150 gift certificate to Defalco's; Custom (and useable!) Tap Handle Best of Show Trophy; a sleeve of custom NCHBC winners' coasters from Canada Coaster; and one free entry into AHA National Homebrew Competition
BEST REGIONAL HOMEBREWER: Phil Turcotte, brewer, Vincent Lalande, co-brewer, "2/3 Stone" (Mild)
The best regional homebrewer, as chosen by our panel of judges, will receive a Brewmaster Experience Provided by BigRig Brewery, including lunch with BigRig's Brewmaster, Lon Ladell; a commercial scale design of your recipe to be brewed with Lon at the brewery; when the beer is ready, a $300 credit for you and a party of up to ten plus a 30 litre keg of your brew to take home; $100 gift certificate from Ontario Beer Kegs; $75 gift certificate to Defalco's; and a sleeve of custom NCHBC winners' coasters from Canada Coaster
BEST OF CLASS:
Winners will receive a $50 credit with OntarioBeerKegs.com, a sleeve of custom NCHBC winners' coasters from Canada Coaster to help brag about your accomplishment, and a Best of Class certificate…not to mention the awe and admiration of your fellow homebrewers and friends!
