Just saw a Keep 6 tweet that seems to indicate Aphrodite/Aphrodisiaque is coming to Ontario (tap & bottles...presumably consignment). mmmm. Can anyone confirm?

That the importer of DDC has tweeted about it a few times would seem to be pretty good confirmation...

they've brought it in before (bottles at lcbo, taps around town), so no reason to believe it isn't gonna happen again.

Thanks....just wanted confirmation as I hadn't seen anything posted here....and if it's not on the Bar Towel, it's not the truth! :)

It is my favourite beer, especially after a night of trying various styles of beer - it always seems to be my 'finish beer' to top off the evening. Looking forward to seeing 'her' again...

A tasty beer in deed. Sometimes a Peche Mortel isn't quite needed...

It's on at Volo right now, may have drank the entire keg by myself last night though. Sorry!

drank some at barhop before the Jays' home opener.
honestly, one of the more solid offerings from DDC. wicked head, creamy body, nice lacing, perfect amount of vanilla.
hot damn, it is a great draught beer. if only it came out during the middle of winter....

I found some of these at Crossroads LCBO on clearance. I'd be interested in knowing how it got there. Did the consignee pick up only the kegs or was this a totally separate shipment?

Either way, I hadn't tried it before and it is fantastic. It would be even better in the cold winter but still very nice on a cool spring evening!

I hadn't realized what a great addition vanilla was until I tried the Granville Island Lions Winter Ale this winter. It was good but I knew a great brewer would be able to use it in a much better way and DDC has confirmed my suspicions.

If any local homebrewer is interested in trying something like this, let me know. I have a whack of vanilla beans in the freezer that I purchased for making my own vanilla extract. My project is coming along great but I have plenty of extra beans that I would be willing to share for a taste of the finished brew.

The bottle version is nice, but the mouthfeel and flavour (not to mention head) of the keg version (fresher?) is much better.

If you enjoyed the vanilla, consider searching out Great Lakes Harry Porter and the Bourbon Soaked Vanilla Bean. It's a great porter with a vanilla flavour that is strong without being overwhelming.

Oh yes keg version WINS big-time - the aroma is just heady, complex, deep, cloud-fluffy and seductive and I fall right into this beer metaphorically with my senses.

The bottle version is just a 'regular' wicked good beer. I've had cases of the stuff, don't worry Keep6 I'll buy it here if you sell it.

I just had the Aphro on tap at Red Room - no creamy pillowy head, zero big deep sweet vanilla-cocoa aroma at all. Is this even the right beer? Flavors were mostly all short and bitter-dry with no roundness and supple cocoa-dark fruit flavors I'd expect.

When it's dead in the keg it's not a great beer, but now I feel inspired to drive to Montreal. Anybody meet for a pint at the pub? :D

Wait, the Red Room on Spadina is serving DDC?
