Craft brewery in Hamilton announced today

CBC Hamilton has posted a story on a new brewery planned for Hamilton.

The owner's enthusiasm is terrific and I wish him great success. Great to see this operation will be situated in the downtown area.
Hopefully Warren and his business partners will recruit an experienced brewmaster.

I've always thought it strange how Hamilton hasn't got a craft brewery yet. They're big enough to support one on their own and they're close enough to Toronto they wouldn't really need to anyway. I always just figured the water supply wasn't ideal for it or something.

I'm wondering what's going on with Shed Brewing, a planned brewery that was announced in January? Shed was to situate in a building in Dundas.
I haven't seen any updates since then.

The last I heard about Shed brewing was about a month and a half ago, but it was from secondary source who said it was still full steam ahead. I know there was some residential/community opposition a couple of months ago..."a brewery? In my neighbourhood? Drunken frat boys puking on MY LAWN???? Over my dead body". That old BS. I haven't heard much about how far that got though.

It's great to have a local craft brewery, especially one that innovates. You can stop in for the one-offs, that unlike the rent beer don't go into to the LCBO retail stream.
This planned brewery will have plenty of support and good-will from the locals, but that only goes so far. Over to them to make great beer and earn loyal customers for years to come.

Just saw a tweet from Hamilton Councilor Brenda Johnson that the proposed brewery for Dundas is finally coming before the Planning Committee.
UPDATE: Planning Committe approved Shed Brewing. On to Hamilton Council for ratification on Friday!
