I think there may be some mis-information in this article.

While I agree, when talking about the tar sands, we mean tar sands and not oil sands, even though that is just to drive the point home that this is not clean oil (like that exists). However, I may be wrong, but the oil in this spill was not tar sands oil. With a bit of research, that I don't have time to do right now, that might be verified. But I suspect the author either didn't take the time or is looking to make a political point.

Secondly, the article states that the problematic dredging was ordered by the EPA. How it is being done might be a factor, but would the EPA not also be named in the suit in this case?

I worry about the impact of our industrial economy and pollution enough to at least be concerned about pipelines and especially poorly operated ones. I have also been to Fort McMurray‎ and wouldn't wish such a sh*t hole on any country, let alone my home, so I'm not defending the industry, but bad propaganda and mis-information is not the right way to raise public awareness.
