Entitlement at it's finest (read: absolute worst), folks:

Looks like this was an absolute shit show. I can't believe the sense of beer entitlement that is out there. Most of these brewery only releases turn in to a huge mess in one way or another, but this one just completely blew up.

Lot of people earned their entitlement badges on untappd this weekend, so it wasnt a total loss.

Glad to see the owner is being very reasonable about this SNAFU, people are going to be stupid about it, but that's life.

Pretty much the only way I can see to avoid this sort of thing is either through exclusive online buys or wristbanded events

The event was wristbanded.
They had a serious fake ticket issue that didn't get resolved when it opened and a sh*tstorm ensued. Tickets should have had names on them, with ID verification. It can be, and is done, by other brewers worth their salt.

The owner is handling this all VERY POORLY in my opinion.
He is taking his ball and going home with a lot of butthurt.
There were so many issues with this event that he likely felt overwhelmed and I think his reaction is a bit quick.
My guess is they will have another brewery festival minus the bottle release and call it something else. Mixing bottle releases with festivals = bad idea.

HAHAHA

All these limited release events suck. Dark Lord Day sucks. How about actually selling the beer in, y'know, stores? Perish the thought!

This was my first thought too, separate the beer release from the party. Also purchasing your beers online, and printing off a receipt to exchange for your beer at a future date (ie. the way Founders handled the Boltcutter release a couple years ago).

Dr. Frankenstein has now warned us of the monster (created by all these special releases).

Ha. Here's a recap:

There's literally no beer in the world I would go through this kind of aggravation for.

Note to all other brewers/owners/etc.... don't be like this guy. No matter what happens. There is always a better way.

what a sad waste of time

Reminds me of videos of people crying at big beer events because a pilot batch had run out

He's promising to refund everyone's money, and possibly brew another batch of Hunaphu for everyone who had wristbands that got shut out. Not sure what more he can do to make people whole.

Yeah it ended up being a shitshow, but honestly people were standing in line for $20 bottles of beer, and went away empty handed. First world problems for sure. You want to talk about lineups that matter, well these are the ones that matter

Yeah talk about 'manufactured scarcity' - we here have no idea do we. I have to remind myself to let it go sometimes.

A little perspective doesn't hurt... Image

I gave it a 3.4/5. So much hype.
