Nice list....I'm quite looking forward to this event, partly out of curiosity for comparing the affects of different barrels on different beers.

Nickel Brook announced the beers they're bringing to the Sacred Oak:
We’ll be bringing our Kentucky Sour, a tart ale aged in bourbon barrels, and our New World: Brux, a Belgian-style pale ale that’s been mingling with brettanomyces in chardonnay barrels.

I hate teasing out beer lists for events (via twitter or whatever else.)

Fuck the marketing build up crap. Just post the damn lists! (Preferably before ticket sales too.) I'd like some time to figure out what I want to have ahead of time and how much cash to bring for tokens. No I won't use on-premise white box ATMs.

You referring to me? I don't have the entire list, so sending it out in pieces as I get it. Sorry.

I find the "unveilings" to be pretty pretentious and just silly. I agree that lists should be posted. When Volo posted the list for the DDC tap takeover, I knew what I wanted to drink, how much cash to bring, and roughly how long I'd be there. I also find it odd how many breweries don't even update their sites regularly, but that's just another sign about how communications are lacking.

Partially, there are other culprits too. And some even worse like C'est What's Fall festival that starts tomorrow and there's no list yet?!

We all know that beer isn't made at the drop of a hat. It takes time, particularly some styles and techniques. Brewers, assuming they put some thought into what they may make for events, know what they're providing well ahead of time. So what's with the last minute releasing of what's available at events? Or do some just grab some special beer in stock and say "Here!" at the last minute?

We all understand that sometimes shit happens and beers don't turn out right. Putting a little type underneath stating "Lineup is subject to change" is perfectly fine.

I hate going into events blind especially when there's a shit-tonne of beers to try and not enough bodily capacity to have them all. I like to work out a plan of attack.

There's a reason why I don't spend more $$$ on beer events. I've been burned several times in the past buying tickets blind. The Beer Experience last year during TBW was one such event. What was billed as all unique beers for the event certainly wasn't the case.

Because I love you guys, here's the list as complete as I have it now:

Nickel Brook Kentucky Sour Tart ale aged in bourbon barrels

Nickel Brook New World: Brux Belgian-style pale ale with brettanomyces in chardonnay barrels

Amsterdam Crucible Framboise aged in Cab/Merlot

Amsterdam Superstition Barrel aged farmhouse

Beau's Ashnan Wheat wine aged in white wine barrels

Bellwoods Donkey Venom Brett Barrel Aged Porter

Bush Pilot Norseman Eisbock aged in Armagnac barrels

Muskoka Twice as Mad Tom IPA Aged in cognac barrels

Great Lakes Berry Manilow Farmhouse aged in pinot noir barrels

There's also going to be a barrel barley wine from Sawdust and a minimum of 5 from Indie, including a barrel wit, barrel strawberry and barrel Flanders.

Complete list will be posted tomorrow, like I said just getting the last details together.

Exactly. I'd sometimes even like to know how many bodies will be present for figuring out my time and what order of beers I'll be drinking. Especially for early access times like this year's Cask Days. I'm trusting Volo to have sold a limited amount of early access tickets to make the extra cost worthwhile. I'm dreading my potential first three words of "Oh fuck off!" when getting on site.

I'd like to think (hope?!) that we're beyond having pretty web sites now and that easy to access and consume timely information updates is more important. Or at least be active on Twitter for updates.
