3 Brewers Liberty Village

Post by GregClow »

Not a review exactly, as it'll be some time until it's open, but a new location of 3 Brewers is under construction in south side of the former Academy of Spherical Arts building in Liberty Village.

I'm not sure if it will have an on-site brewery or will just bring in beer from the Yonge St. location, but given the size of the space, I'm guessing it'll be on-site.

Now we'll just have to see if it opens before or after the long-planned location in the Richmond-Adelaide Centre...

talking to manager at 3 brewers recently, he said they are giving some freedom to the brewers in recipe, and also in being able to offer a unique local beer in each location

Wow must be that beer-wise we're completely spolied (as compared to say ten years ago) that I really never gave a second look to LTB in the past handful of years. I thought it was kind of the Denny's of brew pubs, touristy and unencumbered by inspired originality with mediocre stuff. It's neat if that situation is developing.

Similarly on the coffee front, Liberty Village recently got its very own Tim Horton's.

Isn't Liberty Village Brewing Co opening on the old Origin/Liberty Noodle location kitty-corner to this? That seems much more interesting to me.

Nope - that's opening this weekend as a location of Local Public Eatery, a more down-market off-shoot of Joey's: http://localpubliceatery.com/

A couple of folks who have been there for previews have reported a few local beers on tap, including Black Oak and Amsterdam. But also some macro garbage as well. Still, might be an OK place for a burger and beer.

3 Brewers isn't all that bad...but to me, their food is disappointing.
I've eaten there more times than care to admit, at numerous locations in Toronto, Montreal and something always seems to go not quite right unless you stick to simple wings.
I have enjoyed some of their limited-edition or seasonal beers, so it is nice to hear that there may be more of that happening with local brewing options.
