LCBO Macro Price Jumps

Post by groulxsome »

Not like too many folks on here are drinking these, but the LCBO Beer Watch twitter account is having a busy day keeping track of all the price jumps in marco beers.

https://twitter.com/LCBOWatch

Examples, 24 of Rolling Rock up $3, 12 pack of Bud Crown up $3.55, etc.

Probably an alright move for some craft breweries, since they are closer in price to the macros now, but still, what a great retail system!

Huh? Last I checked, the LCBO didn't sell any beer format larger than a 6 pack. Why do they have listings for 12s & 24s?

Some rural stores and agency stores carry the larger formats

icemachine is correct.

There are some stores deemed as "combo" stores where the population doesn't warrant having both a TBS and LCBO -- so LCBOs have the 24s TBS selection.

Ah, right - I knew that, just slipped my mind. Carry on, then.

What's so crazy about those combo stores are they are exactly what TBS says with their PR machine will be the downfall of society if beer was in corner stores.

Calling Northern Ontario the end of society is a lot closer to the truth than most things TBS has to say.

Where's your hometown? I'm assuming you don't mean Aurora, which really isn't Northern Ontario.

Tell me about it, a town of 280 people with 5 different protestant churches - two of which split into separate factions over ministerial conflicts.
