The Exchange Brewery - Niagara-on-the-Lake

Post by BakaGaijin »

This brewery is tentatively scheduled to have beers out later next year. I was speaking with the Head Brewer at Volo last night. He was poached from Jolly Pumpkin. Exchange is going to focus on sour/funky beers. Could be interesting.

sounds good, maybe now niagara will actually have a brewery that has consistently good stuff! i'm glad they are focusing on a different style that many of the new breweries that are popping up around ontario as well.

Ontario could use a brewery that specializes in sours. I wish them luck.

It's a good idea, but you gotta imagine that the operational curve to getting that stuff running is a couple of years long.

I think your right, however, this has been in the works for over a year and they don't anticipate releasing anything until late next year.

It's a niche within the local (Ontario) market that is under served, so hope they do well, and produce good brews.

Probably a good concept for their Niagara region too, home to so many wineries and fruit orchards...

True. This is where they will be trying to source some of their barrels from.
