tweets he has a 1 way ticket to toronto for Dec 30.

rumour's been there for a while.

it will be fun to see the dominos fall in place. should have a huge impact on the Toronto brewing scene (e.g. Hill Farmstead and Bim are buds)

the previous rumours are they he's starting a new place with local beer people, but as of a few months ago, they didn't have a location.

Here's to hoping that these rumours come true (I have heard them, too). Toronto could badly use another Bellwoods level brewery and this could be just that...

Wonder how this lines up with the rumor about volo possibly moving to a bigger spot with a larger brewing system...

It's gotta be them or that Parkdale Brewery I keep hearing so much about. :P

Any of us having a greater chance of opening a brewery than that Parkdale guy.

Volo potentially moving could be pretty good especially if it's further south-west. :P

I love Bar Volo. And the only time I seem to go in that area is when I need to buy or eat something specific like Okonomi House. Yonge and Bloor corridor isn't exactly Broadway and 17th, is it... But Volo is usually packed and they know what they're doing so they will thrive in a new location. Win win!

I, for one, would welcome a move southeast. It's like a desert island over here.

Is it confirmed they're actually moving? I wouldn't be surprised if they just shut down the pub concept entirely and focus on the importing and/or festival and/or brewing businesses.

Nothing in this thread is confirmed! It's a wild rumor thread. But let's try to be the rumor we want to see in the world. Isn't that what Gandhi wanted?

Someone I was talking to a while back thought that Volo's current location is on some condo developer's wishlist. If it was, perhaps a good time to flip and invest in a brewpub elsewhere. Queen and Spadina-ish, maybe?

In a few informal chats with Ralph and Tomas, the issue of the new condo across the street leaving their patio in the dark has come up. But I also got a sense that they don't really want to give up the intimacy (or just plain jammed room) they have. I'm betting an entrepreneurial itch will win out and something will happen.

I really like the current location. Since I live uptown, I often walk home from downtown and Volo is a great mid way spot to stop for a pint or two.

Wat? The Okonomi House is opening a brewery with Bim in the former Volo location on Yonge?!! I am sure I heard that somewhere....
