Re: Recruiting back to the Bar Towel

Hey Cass and crew - thanks for the email, it was a good incentive to log back in and check things out. Congrats to you and everyone here for keeping this going over the years! I've checked in from time to time but it is certainly so nice to see so many familair names here on this current thread. Ca...

all the same reasons, businesses need to make money, if there was money to be made they would do it, if they would lose money then they dont do it

Re: Why don't brewery taprooms stay open late?

My thought is that it's especially this part: "Avoiding late night intoxication issues?" The general vibe I get from most breweries and their taproom spaces is that they are more responsible, community oriented; often family friendly even. Late night drinking somewhat goes against that et...

Is it a revenue/cost/profit issue during late hours? Staffing? Avoiding late night intoxication issues?

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I'd also like some Two Hearted to be available. It was known in the industry that Larry Bell did not want to work with the LCBO. Now that they have corporate ownership, maybe there's a chance. But I've been hoping for Anchor Liberty to come back under Sapporo ownership and that hasn't happened. Not...

@matt7215 since your the only brewer I know on here and a swell guy that doesn't seem to mind sharing what Barncat does, your lagers in particular are almost always crystal clear. Do you filter some of your beers?
we have never filtered a beer

Re: Something in the Water

See, I'd love to try that oatmeal stout or ESB, but instead they send things like their lime lager or (yet another) hazy IPA to the LCBO- thus I've yet to try anything from them. Good to hear the beer is good though, I usually grab food and a beer in LV before I go to shows at the Amphitheatre, but...

Re: Breweries Selling outside beers

A trend that has started, and I wholeheartedly approve of, is breweries starting to sell stuff from other breweries. A few times this year I've bought from Willibald and got them to send me stuff from Matron and other PEC breweries. It's nice for me because I get the free shipping from Willi, which...

Re: Is cask beer still a thing?

I've been saying for years that I wish Cask Days would drop the Cask. If it's all about experimental stuff, just put it in kegs so we can try it the way it's meant to be. Most of the beers served there don't benefit from the cask treatment at all. The Wooly has 4 engines?! I can't recall seeing mor...

Re: Great Lakes Brewpub (Queen's Quay / Jarvis)

the only 2 things that need to be on a breweries website should be the hours when they are open and the product they have available I like when some get really creative and also list their address on their website. Sure it's kind of pretentious, but still a nice touch. having the address of ...

Re: Great Lakes Brewpub (Queen's Quay / Jarvis)

All bars, breweries & restaurants should post basic details such as hours and location prominently on their home page, and keep it up to date. It's maddening how this info is buried on sites, if present at all. the only 2 things that need to be on a breweries website should be the hours when th...
