Re: Utopia 2024
Thank you for your suggestion. I emailed the LCBO and was referred to Sam Adams. Their answer was that the glass give-away ended prior to 2017, which is more recent than my last successful attempt to buy Utopias. The impact of the outsized price increase is seen in the fact that there are 121 bottle...

Re: The Beer Store Changes Pricing Displays
Of the two closest to me, Third Moon adds the HST when checking out while Badlands is all-in. It is to the point where I add the HST in my head when dealing with TM but anywhere I am paying cash I like to know how much to have in my hand at the checkout.

Re: Utopia 2024
I am pretty certain I managed to obtain the glass the last time I purchased Utopias, which would have been the 2015 edition.
As to the price, agreed - it was a matter of entering my order in a hurry before I had a chance to think twice.

Re: Utopia 2024
In previous years Utopias has come with a free glass provided one sent an email to someone.
Has anyone heard it this still applies in 2024 and, if so, details would be appreciated.

Re: Good news from your Premier!
I had no complaint about Corks at Longo's. It would be inconsistent of me to be upset if people in last season's fashions want to sit and drink in a grocery store environment. Live and let live.

Re:  Red Herring
Elsewhere on this forum people have cited the novelty factor - people want to drink beers that are new to them. We can expect to continue to see stunt beers with non-Reinheitsgebot ingredient lists. I fall on the side of those who think we need more humour and less condemnation. This is sounding lik...

Re: Blood Brothers’ Over The Tap - $7 to $12 for 4 oz pours
I remind myself that it costs nothing to walk into C'est What, to give but one example, and have thirty taps to choose from. That is a beer festival to me.
Mind, some pours are getting expensive there as well.

Re: Recruiting back to the Bar Towel
No word from Greg Clow? I see him on twitter. What about Joey Capps, Dan-D-Man, Beer Kitten? Would be great for Perry to stop by, too. Same with Ken Woods. We don't seem to get Black Oak, locally, these days! Greg still does a fine job getting the beer news of the day out at Canadian Beer News, but...

Re: Shrinkflation
Agree! So do act like a bit of a dick and ask for a top-up, or quietly pay too much for too little? I can't bring myself to be a dick about it at the bar. I'll just talk about them behind their back on forums :) In all seriousness though, I have been noticing it more and more there which is unfortu...

Re: Goose Island Black Friday 2021
This was such great fun that I dropped by today to ask if there might be a repeat of last year's festivities and I was informed that they would have to sell BCS at such a high price to break even that it was a non-starter. That's a real shame, I always enjoying going to the tasting. Their rationale...

Re: Goose Island Black Friday 2021
Info for those who celebrate :) https://www.gooseisland.ca/bourboncountystout LCBO.com release at 10am on 25th. Looks like a non-ticketed event at the brewpub this year pouring it. This was such great fun that I dropped by today to ask if there might be a repeat of last year's festivities and I was...

Re: UK update
This seems to have coincided with a distinct decrease in the number of U.K. beers available on tap - even in self-styled "British" pubs. There are a few to be sure but they tend to be the same from place to place and there is not the variety I had become accustomed to. The cause is likely ...
