Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Cass, I have a few comments about things that I read on this forum yesterday. There is a post mocking the disabled. There is a thread claiming that a certain new pilsner is too expensive and perhaps not good value.(sounds familiar) The Brewer isn't here to complain or to run off in a huff so I guess...

Joe, Before you and the rest of the group, friends and relatives included, heed Steve's call to storm the Parliament buildings (in an e-mail kind of way), it might be nice to consider a few facts. According to Mr Beaumont's book there are less than 20 brewpubs in all of Ontario. He has very little r...

Steve, If you want to approach a government and have them take action on something you need a little better pitch than "they do it other places". If the government allows brew pubs to sell off site then the rest of the bar ownwers in this province will squeal like stuck pigs. The governmen...

Steve, I'm a bit confused about one of your points. You say that " Ontario prohibits brewpubs from retailing their beer in any way other than for consumption on premises, banning external sales in all forms" It seems that the Granite has found a way since their beer is available in the bee...

If we can leave Rabbit's sphincter and Matt's sexual preferences aside, I think that Tar Bowel has asked some interesting questions. The only time that I've noticed a no GMO label was on some Unibroue literature. Since they are trying to sell in the European market, this makes a lot of sense. It rea...

I was just down at the brewery and they have done another batch in the large bottles so it may become available again.

Yes - the Chouffe was flat and the bartender warned me not to order it. If there's a new keg you might be OK. Sarah's has been there for a long time and they have been having problems with their draft since last summer.

I would have bet that there was no way short of magic that anyway could have put another keg into that fridge. There simply wasn't room. Claude you are a magician and my hat's off to you. I leave it up to you whether you want to share your trick with the world.

Thank You Pauley. It's nice to see someone that has actually tried the beer say something. I like pilsners too Pauly. Unlike you, I do like Steam Whistle. I've been shying away from the comparison but since you opened the door I'll be glad to go through it. First however there's one small point. If ...

The Renaissance Cafe (Woodbine and Danforth area) is smoke free. They have a great beer selection and it's a very comfortable place.
Randy, the owner doesn't smoke and it's been smoke free since he bought the place.

Greg, I was at the site the same time that you were. I missed the third establishement but you're correct it's there in monochrome however I can't find any indication of where it's going to be. Anyway why is the brewery telling everyone that everything is open now on their boxes and on their website...

I always find it interesting when people put a post on a discussion list that has no other purpose than to stop the discussion. There are also those that want to get their comments on record and then stop the discussion. I find it facinating to hear what these folks at Mill St. have to say. It's gre...

Michael, Nobody has criticised your price. It has simply been pointed out that it's very expensive and in fact it appears to be the most expensive lager or German Pils brewed and sold in Ontario. I think the small bottles are a joke but the reason that I won't be buying them is that I find the beer ...
