Apparently there is this place too that I just found on Google maps!

Re: Windsor-Essex County Beer Enthusiasts, Unite!
A couple of notes about Windsor: both Craft Heads and Phog are moving from downtown to Erie St. They're actually going in side-by-side in a new plaza build that is across the parking lot from WindsorEats Food Hall. So that'll make for a pretty nice three-pack of spots all right there together. Soun...

Re: Breweries closing and/or restructuring and/or bought out
Am I the only one who likes Lake of Bays beers, and their restaurants too? lol. Stopped in to the Huntsville location a last winter and the beers had definitely improved over previous years IMO, still skewing towards accessible. Food was a mixed bag - one dish was excellent, and one was pretty not ...

Re: Stepping away from beer reviews
I like the verbosity of Beeradvocate much more than the mostly scores of Untappd. It’s a shame that Untappd has basically taken over. One of the good things I like about Untappd is the lack of granularity. Perhaps many have a finer palate than I do, but I could not reliably differentiate a 91 and 9...

Re: Windsor-Essex County Beer Enthusiasts, Unite!
Rose City Beer Works is relatively new. (And I haven't tried them yet if you want to bring some back to the GTA :) ) Sandwich Brewing was decent when I went a few years ago. BREW, Walkerville, Chapter Two (Disappointing when I went, but I'd be curious to hear how they are now). Further out there is ...

Re: Around the World Beer Trip...where would you go?
Partly depends on if I am paying or not :) Also am I prioritizing the beer or travel? Beer focused I would probably spend a good chunk of time in the UK. From there take the train to Belgium, then on to Germany and Czech Republic. Add Switzerland if I can do the Glacier Express. Alternatively, UK to...

I mean, it's not THAT long ago that a suburban bar with Trou du Diable and Beau's on tap would have been a good thing!

Re: Where would you go for 4 or 5 days?
You can easily fill a few days in Montreal and surrounding area. If you haven't been to Buffalo in a while there a several breweries that have opened since the last time I went. Could combine with a Finger Lakes Trip. Pretty much any part of Ontario, depending on what ratio of beer to other stuff yo...

Re: What's Your Favourite Ontario West Coast IPA?
Fairweather has a new WC IPA called Lefty - Delicious Not sure I'd call it a traditional WC IPA so much as just not hazy but I did quite like it back in April. I feel like this style has a lot of potential - less malt forward than a traditional WC IPA, less caramel and resin, but also less of the g...

Re: Denver/Boulder
My usual research these days is to start with the places maps at Ratebeer (mostly to identify spots. There aren't enough people actively rating places anymore to be enough on their own), do a venue search on Untappd, then when i get to destination check to see what people are checking in where. The ...

Re: St. John's, Newfoundland
Sent you an email with notes from my 2019 trip. Let me know if you didn't get it. Landwash was great. We drank a decent amount of Quidi Vidi Day Boil while we were in Newfoundland. Craft beer prices at the liquor store in NFLD (and the maritimes in general) skewed higher in my experience. Decent sel...

Re: Turncoat
I was under the impression that Turncoat was a contract brew at Dragan and never really got going on a brick and mortar location. (I had crossed them off the list on my 'Try every brewery' quest on that basis.) Tough to say from their website / Facebook.

Re: Beer in Convenience Stores coming early
Having said that, good chance a lot of us will be dead by the time changes occur that would excite a craft beer enthusiast. I am a bit more optimistic than that - I think there is potential for a convenience or grocery store to decide they want to have a great beer selection as one example. We kind...

Re: Beer in Convenience Stores coming early
Unless it's allowed to be cheaper we won't see beer at Costco. I wonder if that's true. I would have assumed they would want to get the extra sales but without that differentiation point it may or may not be worth the space / the other stuff that comes with dealing with it? I guess we will see. I t...

Re: Steel Wheel
I went back in 2018 and it was decent based on the four beers I tried. Seemed like a nice enough spot that was just getting started. No idea what it's like now.
