Re: What's Your Favourite Ontario West Coast IPA?

Went to buy my annual Boneshaker for Halloween (gotta use that skull mug I have!) and was shocked to see it went up to $4.25/can. Oh wait... it's in a 568ml can!
Works out to a cheaper price per ounce, but I don't know if I was really looking for more ounces, lol

Re: Anyone get a beer advent calendar?

For NA fans, Designated Drinks and Upside Drinks also do advent calendars.

I did the one from Upside last year as I was hoping for a lot of Quebec selection and was disappointed that it only made up for 1/4 to a 1/3. Still was good, just not as good as I hoped.

Re: Anyone get a beer advent calendar?

While not on their website/social media (yet I'm assuming) last month I visited Oranje Son Brewing in Caledonia for the first time and they said they were working on an advent calendar. As with LB, they don't have 24 brands and we making lots of one-offs just for the calendar. I had a couple of thei...

Exactly my thoughts. At that price point I wished I liked it more, but I can't see myself buying it again this year.

Re: Breweries closing and/or restructuring and/or bought out

Am I the only one who likes Lake of Bays beers, and their restaurants too? lol. I've never been to their restaurant(s) but have not enjoyed their beers over the years. I presume they've improved? I think LB beers have improved. I never thought the quality was poor, just a bit bland and not true to ...

Re: Around the World Beer Trip...where would you go?

Years ago I remember making a loop home>quebec>vermont>nyc>home, with the first two stops based purely on beer (the nyc stop was because I was with family and we wanted to see the Macy's thanksgiving day parade - which is awesome). I can't imagine planning a trip around beer at this point. Case in p...

Re: Beertown

My beef with the Oakville Beertown is value for money - the beers are all 14/15oz or smaller, and $8-$9+ per, plus tax and tip. And I've observed consistent under-filling of glasses, and whether purposeful or not, drives me mad. I end up going to other places in town where the selection isn't the s...

Re: Beer in Convenience Stores coming early

They will be "convenient" on holidays for when I poorly plan.

That's the extent of seeing myself using them.

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread

$229.00    Pretty sure it's well over 230 USD in the states though, so it's a (relative) deal getting it through the LCBO sure, and that's stupid too. Over a 55% increase in the last 8 years. Granted many Scotches have increased that much in the same time period, but that's laughable...

Re: Kilannan Kolsch

Yes, I have family up that way and this is true. Had a few cans from them recently, and I agree that they were pretty similar to what I remember from old Kilannan (I really liked the Alt back in the day). Of the ones I tried on this visit, I liked the NZ Red (resiny with lovely malt flavours, bone ...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I went to Caledon last night to see the Sam Roberts Band - free concert at "Caledon Day". Caledon Hills, Goodlot, and Sonnen Hill all had booths, two each actually with one one each side of the area which was convenient. What I found interesting is that Caledon Hills and Goodlot had line-...

Re: Liquery.com

I remember the caskhunter/drinkvine guy calling it quits, but not this site. Maybe I missed that. I liked this site because I could find out the inventory for an entire store, not just for beer (which lcbo.watch does) but for all their products. Don't think there's anything else out there that did t...
