Re: What to do if you think you have a really bad batch (tainted)?
Have you tried the same beer from a different batch? I'd start by having one from a different batch and seeing what happens. - If nothing, try one from the suspected batch and see. If the suspected batch does something after the new batch does nothing, talk to the brewery. - If something happens fro...

Re: Great Lakes
Heard about their expanded delivery in the latest podcast. It's *teasingly* close to reaching me now hah Me too, but on the north side. I complained and was told to move to Guelph. (keep in mind I complained to my friend who is their sales rep in the area, and I used to live in Guelph so he was jus...

Lactose is an intolerance, not an allergy. Allergies can be deadly, intolerances just mean you're in for an unpleasant time. NOW THAT SAID... 1) I wholeheartedly agree the backlash on this beer is bullshit, and people just need to put their big boy/girl/gender neutral pants on and stop sucking so mu...

Re: Cask-in-a-Box
I've ordered the 4L cask boxes from Granite many times, usually in the summer. The Best Bitter and Hopping Mad are both great in these. Pretty sure only Volo and Granite have them. (Neither have any in stock right now.) Am I overlooking anyone else who might have cask beers that they'd be filling i...

Re: Non-Alcoholic Beer
The two best NA brews I've had recently were both Red Ales. One from Toolshed in Alberta, one from Brasseur de Montreal. Just another one of those styles that seems to work better than others in NA form. (To me at least) Yes, absolutely. The one from Brasseur de Montreal is indeed good, as are most...

Re: What's Your Favourite Ontario West Coast IPA?
I like the sounds of this one from Sawdust City...anyone tried it yet? Wayback Playback - West Coast IPA - Citrusy and floral. This West Coast IPA has a bold hop aroma that packs a bitter punch. It finishes dry and crisp. My review from August 2022: "Big WCIPA fan but this misses the mark some...

Re: What's Your Favourite Ontario West Coast IPA?
Finished my last can of Peak to Peak last night. Good, but I stand by my initial assessment.
Also had Quayle's Brewery Big Chute IPA... definitely in the WC style; worth trying, even if it wasn't quite right for me.

Re: What's Your Favourite Ontario West Coast IPA?
Gotta admit that I didn't enjoy Peak to Peak as much as other have on here. It was good, but others I've had recently I enjoyed more (Exchange Two Way, Sawdust 2 Pad Stack, Lower West Side...)
I have 3 more cans, so maybe I just wasn't digging it that night.

Yeah I'd 100% agree with this. Peroni being a great example. Most "blonde" beers have tasted as advertised and therefore I've enjoyed, even though I'd never order one with alcohol.

Had a Headstock recently, was pretty good.
Also had a WCIPA with a goose on the label around Xmas that I liked.

Re: Breweries closing and/or restructuring and/or bought out
Yeah I'm surprised as well, as they've been around for 12 years, as the press release says, and have a couple of listings at the LCBO.
I had a few of their beers, nothing noteworthy. The Caboose IPA was ok for a WC I guess.

Re: What's Your Favourite Ontario West Coast IPA?
Recently had Exchange Brewery Two Way West Coast IPA and very enjoyed it. Definitely on the more bitter end of the scale, which suits me fine.
I also enjoyed the 2 Pad Stack from Sawdust.

At $12/335ml I'm making sure they brew me a bourbon-barrel aged barelywine, lol

I had a fantastic meal and some good beers at Craft Bierhaus in Revelstoke. My family and I still talk about this place. Didn't get to the two breweries in town though.
I'm jealous, I love Revelstoke.

Re: Non-Alcoholic Beer
I'd have to agree Jazz Hands is still one of the best I've tried and has the most complex hop profile, as well as being the most convincing. I tried Collective Arts NA IPA the other night and that one was lemony. Woo boy, like lemon drops. I did like it overall, but as I drank it I started to get a...
