I'll most likely be stopping in to Whiskeyjack as I'm staying in that town for an evening, but that isn't till late August and even then the beer would be in Elmira(Waterloo) that you'd have to pick up.

Re: G&M (paywall): Canada’s crowded craft beer industry is tapped out. What brewers say must happen to stay afloat
Oh the "pity cans" - It's always such an awkward moment of deciding if you actually want to buy anything after an underwhelming tasting at a brewery. I feel like wineries are more used to people just coming for a tasting and not buying stuff to take home. ... I am mostly getting beer to g...

Re: G&M (paywall): Canada’s crowded craft beer industry is tapped out. What brewers say must happen to stay afloat
Breweries roughly fall into these (over simplified) categories for me: Top Tier - Are making good to great beer and are capable of competing on the basis of their product regardless of other factors. Second Tier - Okay to good beer, brewery has established a market and reputation for themselves. Th...

Re: What to do with all these growlers?
Hi everyone I looked for a similar topic but could not find one so if this has been addressed already please just direct me to the relevant discussion. One of the few benefits of the pandemic shutdown was that my local brewpub began selling growlers. But they would not take the empties back. I now ...

Re: Great Lakes
Had a Karma Simcoe last night and it was excellent. Agreed the Lake Effect was tasting really good this year as well. I didn't enjoy Robohop this year however. Nothing wrong with it, I just prefer it being a WC double instead of a NE double. Agreed re: Robohop. It was nice, though, that they releas...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Picked up this year's Amsterdam Flight Pack as it contains Tempest. However it also contains their Kerstmis Bier doppelbock with retro graphics, from what I can find this is a resurrection of a discontinued beer from the early 2000s. Amsterdam is funny in that I can't find any mention of it on thei...

Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter Back in and showing stock. Definitely buying more this time. I'm almost sure it was more than $3.80 a bottle last time? Didn't it come in a 6 pack? https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/lcbo/flying-dog-gonzo-imperial-porter-16693#.YTe1r530nIV It was $5 o...

This is mostly based off release data as sales data is hard to come by; here is an infographic on beer releases for breweries doing online ordering across Ontario: https://brewed.today/articles/2020 This discussion piqued my interest though, when I get time I might go back and compare the number of...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery
Anyone else think Bellwoods is out to lunch with their pricing these days? The latest releases for BOYD and Skeleton Key are $20/btl! That's still a 500ml bottle btw. I used to buy Bellwoods all the time but they've lost me with these crazy high prices for their barrel aged releases. Out to lunch f...

ISO: Barncat Bourbon Barleywine
I missed out last week. Anyone in the K/W or Guelph area pick up more bottles then they need?
I have things to trade and whatnot.
Wouldn't mind a Brandy Rat Queen too, but not the priority.

Re: 2020-2021 Winter Season at the LCBO
Just realized we aren't getting Samichlaus this year. Bummer. Hope it returns in the future, as I only have a few bottles left. Same here, I think I’m down to my last two bottles I’ll generally drink an older vintage during Xmas eve day, and replace it with the current year to keep rotatiting the s...
