Re: Where would you go for 4 or 5 days?
Great suggestions here! I put together a few hypothetical road trip (from Toronto) itineraries in mid-March 2020 which never came to fruition, for obvious reasons. This list might already be obsolete, but here it is: With a border crossing: Rochester, NY: - 3 hours from Toronto - Brooklyn's Other Ha...

Re: C'est What Fall Festival 2024
I was in on Friday (by coincidence) and they still had everything on tap, including an excellent Wood Brothers hazy boi.
C'est What remains one of the best pubs in town, IMHO.

Re: Prince Edward County
It's one of the best parts of the province to visit, and the beer scene is awesome. Two minutes from Matron is All My Friends Beer Co., which I consider one of Ontario's top breweries (currently ranked 5th on Untappd). Strange Brew is definitely worth a visit, and I'm also a fan of Gillingham. I've ...

I had the San Diego Super Sauce from Rouge River and it was quite good. It's at the Lickbo now: https://www.lcbo.com/en/rouge-river-san ... -ipa-38795

So, my hop oil arrived in the mail today, and I was pretty excited to try it out. Brilliant! I'm glad you did this, and I found your whole post really entertaining. Imagine the possibilities.... you could turn Keith's into something that vaguely resembles an IPA! Sorry to revive a dead thread, but ...

Re: Beer in Convenience Stores coming early
Sounds a lot like how it is here then, though I wonder if the deps get to order directly from breweries if they like? Access truly has come a long way in the last 10 years, it's so much better than it was. One thing I would love to see is a relaxing of provincial barriers in particular. There's no ...

Sounds pretty good to me! I was in Ypsilanti that weekend for the Michigan Brewers Guild festival, but wouldn't mind hitting this up next year if the stars align.

Did you have any interesting samples that stood out? Were people generally enjoying the vibe? Also wondering how the entertainment was!

Re: Breweries in Prince Edward County
I was in PEC for a bit recently, and the beer scene there has become quite crowded. Beyond what I considered the "new" breweries in the area like Matron, Slake and All My Friends, none of which I ended up visiting, there were a few other spots I'd never heard of I did go to: Strange Brew:...

Re: What's Your Favourite Ontario West Coast IPA?
I recently got a variety pack from Stockyards, which I don't often see at the LCBO. It had one IPA called Iron Horse Trail that I felt had a distinctly West Coast vibe, and I thought it was really tasty!

Re: What're you drinking right now?
I'm only drinking NA beers for 100 days, lol. Had Chester from Bazaar recently, an NA Berliner weisse with black currants. It was quite good! Grabbed the new Swoon stout from Burdock, and picked up Nickel Brooks NA beer to try soon. Bazaar is pretty great. Gimmicky dessert beers are the future of N...

Re: Slake
I've been seeing these guys more and more at LCBOs. Had one of their high-end bottles and it was quite nice. Previously, they only offered $10 shipping, so I never ordered. They now offer free shipping from $100 province-wide. Nice. I'm a fan of their stuff! Lots of great breweries in PEC to pick f...

Re: Sparrow brewing
I did a brewery-hop last December and attempted to hit everything in Cambridge, so Sparrow was definitely on my list. I was pretty psyched to try them, as they consistently top the Untappd charts for Ontario breweries. While I liked their signature brown ale, I found everything else pretty average. ...

Re: Non-Alcoholic Beer
I've seen N/A beer at an increasing number of quick-service places and boutique stores. But one reason I don't usually buy them when I'm out and about (or say, getting lunch at the office) is because I don't want people thinking I'm drinking the real deal! Also, I find it needs to be poured into pro...
