Re: Top 5 B.S.
I would have to with Great Lakes Burst. It's a good tasting pale ale at only 4.5%. After that, I'd go with Bitburger; I feel there's quite a few European lagers that would fit the first three criteria and that provide good value. Oh, and Kostritzer Schwarzbier is another fave.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I picked up a couple of bottles of the 3F Intens Rood. Also noticed an Ontario classic back on the shelves (or perhaps i just haven't noticed it) in the form of Saint Andre Vienna Lager, though now called Bohemian Lager.

Re: Black Oak Sold
Thanks for sharing this. I haven't bought much black oak lately, but always enjoyed the release of their nutcracker porter, and their 10 bitter years was amazing at the time it first came out. Hope Ken finds success in this new chapter.

Enjoying a couple of Mascot Pilly's with my partner. Didn't check the brewed on dates and from what I can tell there's about a 6 month difference. They also noticeably look different:
It a really good beer when fresh, still decent when not.

Re: What’s in the back of your fridge?
Great thread, motivated me to look on the shelves. My oldest is a 750ml of Chimay blue from 2006 followed by a couple of 2007 and 2008 Thomas Hardy ales. Also have a magnum (or 1.5l) of Chimay Blue 2013.
I drank all my Fuller Vintage ales last year - they ranged from 2007-2012.

Re: I think we should be getting ready for a hop shock
I was just reading in an email from Stan Hieronymus that the USDA reported a record year for hop production in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. His updates get quite in depth at times, but it truly is an insightful look into the world of hops. You can join his mailing list at https://appellationbeer.co...

I just noticed this beer and bought a few. Does it taste comparable to anything else you've had? I have yet to drink one.Urotsukidoji wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 11:23 pm Just drank a Tynt Meadow tonight, bought at the Meadowvale Town Center store, very enjoyable,

Re: Great Lakes
FYI This years version of Devils Pale Ale was released today! I quite liked it. i was worried it might disappoint but I found it to be a very nice change of pace. I'm enjoying this year's release as well. It's always been one of my favorites and I've never found anything quite comparable. I ended u...

Re: Great Lakes
Devil's Pale Ale, yes please- the original recipe specifically. It comes back as a seasonal but it's billed as a black IPA now, and while it's still really good, it's quite a bit different than back in the day. It was one of my earliest 'whoa' moments as I was becoming more adventurous with craft b...
