Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread

I made sure to pop in a couple of days ago to get a couple of bottles of wine and a bottle of that Lambiek Fabriek to try. But really, even the LCBO offers free shipping now, which is staying open during the strike. I wonder how much of an impact it will have on LCBO sales? Our beer view is one thin...

I had a Willibald Vesterbro the other night and it was incredible. They're still in stock online, I highly recommend.

Re: Evergreen 2024 Craft Beer Fest

When I was first getting into craft beer I absolutely loved the festivals. I didn't mind paying more to get access to a bunch of breweries and to try a bunch of stuff all in one fun evening. Over time they've become less and less appealing to me, but I think that's saying more about me and where I a...

Re: Breweries in Prince Edward County

I rented a nice cottage and mostly stuck around there. The ostrich farm was kinda neat, I guess. Some terrific parks in Belleville for the kids.

Re: Breweries in Prince Edward County

I was in PEC for a bit recently, and the beer scene there has become quite crowded. Beyond what I considered the "new" breweries in the area like Matron, Slake and All My Friends, none of which I ended up visiting, there were a few other spots I'd never heard of I did go to: Strange Brew: ...

Re: Any new beers at Rogers Centre this year?

Funny how the pricing there is so divorced from the real world pricing of those beers. Henderson golden Ale (assuming that's the Rush beer) is $3.40, Jelly King is $6.50. They clearly just price everything at what they think the highest amount they can get away with is. I'd totally get a Jelly King ...

Re: Breweries closing and/or restructuring and/or bought out

Old Galt was a neat place, but man every time I went there it felt really, really expensive. I'm not sure that business model is viable in Ontario. Which is a shame, because other than the prices on the beers that place was really cool.

Re: Breweries closing and/or restructuring and/or bought out

I'm surprised you guys haven't heard of Cassel. They were one of the first in the wave of craft breweries in the Ottawa area after Beau's. I don't think they had huge distribution outside of that area, but they have been in the LCBO a few times, been in festivals, done some collabs with other brewer...
