They used to bring in the barrel aged LTM Baltic Porter too, that's one of my all-time favourite beers.

Re: Anyone get a beer advent calendar?

I just grabbed one of those too. Plus their Christmas ale thing. I always end up getting at least one or two of those packs every winter.

I'd get the Westmalle one too, but I don't really want the glass.

Re: Breweries closing and/or restructuring and/or bought out

What a strange pairing!

Hopefully the only change is better access to Merit stuff in the LCBO and taps across the province.

Re: Bar Hop 2 (Peter St)

On a recent trip I popped into the original barhop and it was absolutely deserted at like 5 pm. The beer list and food were still good though!

Come to think of it, why the heck did TDD being sold to Molson not result in Ontario distribution?

Re: Where would you go for 4 or 5 days?

For sure, a trip to Ottawa or Montreal via PEC could be a ton of fun. Could stop in Kingston or something on the way.

Re: Where would you go for 4 or 5 days?

These days I see a lot less point in beer-focused travel in the US than I used to. The spread of and access to great beer is so great now that I figure I can go pretty much anywhere and hit up the best breweries and/or beer bars in town and I'll be overwhelmed by fun stuff I've never seen before. So...

Re: Beertown

For a while there I thought Bier Markt was going to be the thing that filled that gap. They had a few locations, and I was seeing them on restaurant chain gift cards and stuff like that. Seems like they didn't make it for whatever reason.

Re: Beertown

I’ve never been to Beertown, but it seems like this concept can really give someone that has never had stuff from a small producer a taste for something new and different. Looking at their list, there are some ones that are in Durham region, but also some pretty surprising stuff like Small Pony and...

I like that Christmas Ale too. But where's Avec Les Bonx Voeux? I loved that beer so much and we haven't seen it in ages.

Down to 560 now. Moving pretty slowly this year, from the looks of it.

Re: Beer in Convenience Stores coming early

Sounds a lot like how it is here then, though I wonder if the deps get to order directly from breweries if they like? Access truly has come a long way in the last 10 years, it's so much better than it was. One thing I would love to see is a relaxing of provincial barriers in particular. There's no g...

Re: Beer in Convenience Stores coming early

So long as distribution is still run through LCBO/TBS none of the changes like this are going to do much for me. You're not going to get those crafty Deps with incredible selection like you have in Quebec if they have to just order the same stuff everyone else can, right? Come to think of it, I have...
